BBC America had a commercial a few years ago that hit the nail on British humor (IMO). Paraphrased: "Americans have asked us what makes us so funny. Well, you see, when you're stuck on an island in the northern part of the world where it rains a lot, spend most of your time being ruled by kings and queens who lay claim to your food and livestock, have wars amongst yourselves and your neighbors, an occasional plague here, a religious genocide there, a world war or two, and a number of valuable territories who decide at the worst possible time that they'd like to be independent, you find that if you haven't learned how to have a good laugh at yourself every now and then, there really isn't much anybody can do for you...."

The guy in the first story didn't deserve what happened to him but his overconfidence was a mistake. He should have walked the date to a police station when he realized they were being followed, gone somewhere public, taken an Uber, or done anything not to lead him back to her place, or his. And he shouldn't have thought he was untouchable just because he was a man, had like a foot on the stalker and he "went to the gym more often", which he just assumed by looking at him. it should really be a lesson that no-one ever deserves these actions being taken on them, people who are crazy fuckers will always be crazy fuckers. but everyone of any gender/background should take the same precaution with strangers, and follow safety guidelines, no matter how paranoid it makes you think you look. regardless of your size, time at the gym, ect. I'm glad he is okay and the stalker got time for it.
@blarmy8273 жыл бұрын
I guess I shouldn’t be surprised since he said it’s counterintuitive to download an app where the girl has to make the first move, “they’re notoriously not the one to make the first move.” Lol sounds like he’s living in a different time era … the fact that he said he peed every half an hour was strange to me a bit… had a hard time imagining the whole scenario but his initial attitude seems to have carried through the story and he’s lucky to be alive. I definitely agree he should have walked to the police station or gotten an Uber or something. Him explaining how “pathetic” the other guy was bc he didn’t put as many hours in to the gym as him… just shows a pretty consistent mentality that he had. He’s really lucky that he was even able to tell the story… something to think about for people reading this stuff is that things like this happen all the time … but it’s the women near the pissing contest that ends up being assaulted bc of it. No ones pride should be above another’s safety. Weapons exist and it wouldn’t matter how many gym hours you spend if this is the case. Better to be safe than sorry!

On the first story: Guys, please do not confuse time at the gym with the ability to hold your own in a fight. And then, please do not confuse the ability to hold your own in a fight with safety. Just because you can win an honourable duel over half the time does not mean that you are cleared to handle street psychopaths. Most men severely overestimate their ability to do well in a fight. If you are willing to consider fighting as a viable solution to a potential encounter, then you most certainly are not experienced enough to make a correct judgement call. Am I the only one who was off-put about #4 snooping in her laptop in the first place? Edit: and how he sees messed up stuff, but then keeps looking even more. lol
@llusivee3 жыл бұрын
@Jake from state farm yeah but it's still extremely worrying and disturbing that she had that stuff on her laptop
@katstaples32643 жыл бұрын
Yeah I agree! You go looking for trouble and you will definitely find it!
@Yoyozlitt203 жыл бұрын
@Jake from state farm Nah they’re both definitely in the wrong. He shouldn’t have snooped through her stuff but she shouldn’t have those stuff on that laptop to begin with. What he did was wrong but the girl isn’t a saint either. Edit: I didn’t realize there were so many sick people in this thread lol. Idk anyone in the real world that would be into this but then again, it’s the internet so I’d assume it’s a large majority of creeps that are.
@Yoyozlitt203 жыл бұрын
@Jake from state farm Wrong again lol. It’s both parties. That’s still an immoral thing to be into. Did you listen to the story? It wasn’t the anime he was disgusted by it was something much more sinister. Like there are plenty of weird things that people like which I can except but your argument doesn’t make any sense. There’s a limit to these things like children and the stuff like what we heard on the woman’s laptop. By your logic things like these that involve children should be fine right? As long as it’s not on a dirty platform? No. I don’t even know why a snooper is being compared to a deviant like the woman in this story but hey, if you’re into that stuff then do you man. Edit: way to bring gender into something that has nothing to do with it. Nice strawman argument.
@Yoyozlitt203 жыл бұрын
@Jake from state farm Well that’s basically what you’re implying when you claim things such as it’s fine or it’s normal as long as it’s not on a dirty platform. You just contradicted yourself in your reply to me lol. Edit: Nice misnomer; a red herring fallacy doesn’t apply to what I said mentioning children since you fell for your own trap by implying it. Re-listen to the story, the guy wasn’t horrified by the drawings but by the nefarious content within the gifs in the files and still images.

How tragic for the sister. To run into her brother's killer. What horrible things must have happened to that kid. To be capable of such a heinous act. Poor Ryan. He thought he was with a friend. I can't imagine the pain this family has suffered.

Story 4: you did the right thing. If you continued to date her she may have pressured you to get into that stuff And the guy that said girls don’t make the first move I call BS. I’ve made the first move lots of times. Been rejected, too. It’s when they realized I’m not the clingy psycho type is when they’re NOW interested, but by then it’s too late. I’ve already lost interest
