Omg met a guy like the one in story 2 last year. He wanted to be exclusive after the first date and flipped out on me yelling and all when I was like “I don’t know you” and how that wasn’t a normal reaction to a stranger you only seen once. Blocked his number and he stated calling me from his job. Blocked that number to and it finally stopped. First and last time trying online dating.

On Story3 the girl and her friends were probably sex workers or cartel girls. This Luis guy in Bogota who suggested Cali could be on the scheme too, since Cali is far awary from being a safe city, it almost as violent and cartel dominated as Medellin. The guy would have fared better had he stayed in Bogota. If you go to a foreing country where you know no one and nothing about, some security tips: 1 - Do not rely on advices and tips of locals you just met, unless they are workers of turism promotion (and even so, take it with a grain of salt); 2 - Do not meet new people for dates on places they choose, or go from there to places they choose. Stay as much as it is possible on your hotel premises; 3 - Never accept beverage or food from another person than those working to serve you beverage or food; 4 - Never leave your beverage alone, away from your eyes. If it loose sight of it, even for a couple of seconds, throw it away and buy another, it is not worth it take the risk; 5 - Never take means of access to all your money with you when you leave your hotel. The guy did right taking the card away from the wallet, but messed it up when he took it with him anyway.

I'll tell you something else. I'm from a developing country where Western tourists frequent. There's an attitude among some men that they can get to date or do whatever with any attractive girl, because they're 'loaded with money' by local standards. As we all can guess, these men are more or a thirsty, Fomo kind, not really street smart, & it doesn't even occur to them that the locals can actually one-up them. Well. They Always, without fail, get scammed. So checking that attitude before travelling might help them.

This isn’t my story, it’s one of my closest friend’s. She was going on a date with a guy and she didn’t seem very interested but was curious about him. Great career and seemed to be the careful type. They went out to a hole in the wall place and before she got to her car he came running at her and pulled her a few feet from her car. She hit him in the gut and brought him to the ground. He told her (while in pain). A woman got into the back seats of her car. She’s really bad at locking at her car btw. They called the police and the woman had a knife on her and was arrested. That was 3 years ago and they are getting married in 7 months. I love their story.

Story 3. I am from Colombia and I got tell you, Cities as Bogota, Medellin and Cali are full of pimps, scammers and criminal gangs which see tourists as an easy prey and target. So I you don't have a really reliable person who can advise and guide you, don't go alone on a trip like that. Unfortunately this kind of situation happens often even to our own people. My sister long time ago got scopolamine as well and it was a nightmare. They stole her money, jewelry and so on.

My horror story about a date with a guy who claimed he can cook: I arrived at his place and it was so insanely grimey and disgusting that I had to fight the impulse to turn around and leave immediately. It turns out by "cooking" he meant making a basic salad while intermittently reaching out to touch the dirt encrusted dustbin lid to throw away the scraps. My story is almost the same as yours except for a couple different things. I listen to crime shows all the time, I survived a DV relationship also, he's now in prison for 2nd degree murder. However I don't go on dating sites as I had already met someone who is good to me and loves me very much. We met 3 months after the DV relationship and that was almost 8 yrs ago. I hope I never have to go online to find a date. Everyone needs to be very careful and always have a backup plan.

It’s so common in Columbia, like insanely. It’s covered so much when looking into Columbia. Def feel bad for the guy, but also when something appears too good to be true… it usually is. I will say the one thing that sounds sus is losing 20k. Almost no bank, especially internationally will allow such a large sum of cash to be removed in a few hour period. Especially though ATMs. Usually have a per atm limit and a per day limit. The amount for daily use almost never (even for very wealthy clients) exceeds a few thousand a day. And when you look up country specific, to get 20k ish in Columbia that’s like over 100 atms Edit:typos

For the guy that was drugged with the zombie drug.. didn't his parents ever tell him NEVER to accept a drink he didn't open or get himself? this rule isn't just for us girls....NEVER accept a drink you didn't get or open yourself, NEVER leave with a stranger you just met. WE CAME TOGETHER WE LEAVE TOGETHER. Period!... NEVER leave your drink unattended....not even for a second... when I was old enough to drink and go to clubs. These rules were embedded in my head... you can't judge a book by it's cover.... people will pretend to be the second coming of Jesus to rob, kill, rape you.... it's your responsibility to keep yourself safe...these people made so many mistakes that could've been very deadly... when I was dating, I didn't go to the guys house.. hell no, not on a first date.... always out in public where there's lots of witnesses and lights. If you go to their house, something can always go wrong and now you're stuck. Out in public you can just get up and leave .... the problem nowadays, people are just way too desperate.. alarm bells could be blaring but they're not thinking with their big heads... it's a awesome idea to have a friend on standby with ya'll own code word in case you're in danger. These things can really save lives.. we have some real nut out here..

Ok.. the 2nd story... how my women can relate to a very similar situation?Insane. I have one psychos name in my head and I know my best friend has another one and my younger sister has 2! I've had a similar situation. I changed my number. Then only gave it to necessary ppl (work, etc) and ppl I knew wouldn't give it to him. Blocked. Social media is set to private so he can't stalk me there. I also carry a taser with me every where. Sending you hugs, love and positive vibes 💞

Had that issue once, met lady from mutual friend, then she's quiet and mellow till dating getting know better, then suddenly she want be in relationship I was not thinking straight, had long day and so exhausted, I told her sure. While long distance relationship 8 hrs away it's not good, she demanded me come over more often, send many texts, & missed video calls, plus second visit at her hometown, she expecting to sleep together & sex, I rejected cause I'm not ready, it getting on her nerves, I was telling her no rushing into it, still like know more about you. She preferred play games on TV and watch movies all day. It's not me, I like be outdoor activities to do. She doesn't enjoyed it. So, I decided told her, it's better be friend and this not going work for us be together.
