Chip-chan is not an unsolved mystery. It's been confirmed that she lives with family, is a paranoid schizophrenic, and is monitored by said family and the police. This in part is what fuels her delusional belief in "corrupt cop P". Think about it, why, if she were actually the victim of what she claims, would her captor allow her to livestream daily with desperate pleas for help, for over a decade?

#2 Is not a mistery, just the sad story of a woman very likely suffering from severe schizophrenia. The fact that she doesn't not mind people watching her on stream may not be typical for schizophrenic patients, but un surprisingly not every patient will shows all typical symptoms...

As I've said in another comment, I have a friend with paranoid schizophrenia. They have multiple social media accounts. Many of those accounts are live-feed based.

Exactly. It's rare a patient that shows every single symptom of their particular mental illness. Just because she doesnt show one symptom means nothing. It's not a requirement for the illness to exhibit that particular symptom. Anyway, she's clearly paranoid schizophrenic and should have been forcibly removed for her own good into a psychiatric facility long ago. S. Korean healthcare seems much like the USA healthcare system....which is no compliment by any means. It means it has failed.

That first story is slightly off, the consensus is that kenny killed himself. His girlfriend said he had struggled with depression for awhile. I’ve known about Chip-Chan for many years now, and as someone who has schizophrenia (although not the paranoid subtype) I think that’s definitely the most likely reason for her situation. It’s very sad and I really hope she’ll eventually get the help she needs, my heart breaks for her.

Pattie Pizzato it really does, even if it’s all delusions, it’s real for her. I’ve heard it can be hard to get proper mental healthcare in South Korea and that there’s a lot of stigma around it, and if it’s true her parents/family are dead there might not be anyone who could fight for her to get help. Makes me so sad to think about all the fear and hurt she must be going through. I hope so too.
@ElFreakinCid4 жыл бұрын

Chip-Chan, could have more than 1 illness or disease going on with her. My stepdaughter, her mom keep on saying her many and varied symptoms were ALL Lyme Disease. One of my very close friend's from high school, had an older sibling who worked as The doctor who's done so much research on the disease, assistant. I called my friend explained that I believed my stepdaughter's symptoms to be Lyme plus something or something not Lyme. Her sibling called me back the next day with the doctor also on the line. He also thought she had Lyme plus something else altogether. I had permission to record the conversation so I could play it for my husband and his ex-wife which I did. That was when she was 12 years old. The ex was really really weird about which doctor's she'd let the girl see. When the Lyme doctor from Connecticut was in the closest large city to them and offered to examine her for free and free tests, the ex REFUSED. She thought he was a quack. Well 10 years later she died from the 2nd problem, which should have been easy to detect IF doctors with standard exam's and treatment's would have been allowed to see the child and then to treat her. She would have lived as it was she was too far advanced with the 2nd problem by the time she went to her own doctors. I couldn't even tell my then ex-husband "I told you so." But the girl's mother did tell me she should have listened to me and I should've made a bigger deal about it. But that's a hard place to be when your just a young step parent. You really can't speak up without f***ing yourself one way or the other.
@camrenjane90644 жыл бұрын
It’s alright, it’s really a tough place for you to speak since she’s the mother and you’re literally her ex-husband’s new, young wife. You did the right thing by trying but really, interfering more would’ve probably caused her to lash out or say hurtful things you know? Don’t be harsh on yourself bby, you seem like a really good person.

I recall an intelligent, sympathetic video that did a good job of detailing that the most likely explanation of Kenny's disappearance was suicide brought on by a history of mental illness -- including explaining why he did these ventures in the first place.
