Man, the 2nd story hits close to home for me. I had a similiar experience, though mine happened in my early teens over Warcraft 3 clan chat. I was a stupid and depressed kid and a small group in our clan of about 20 regular people decided to pull a prank on me. They had one of the girls message me, pretend to get close, and act like we were in a relationship. It went on for about a month, and the whole time the girl shared all the stupid stuff with the rest of the small group and they had a good laugh at my expense. I only found out cause the clan leader who was a genuinely nice guy caught wind of it and told them to tell me and apologize or he'd kick them out. The girl who had pretended to get close to me was one of the ones who apologized, and when I asked her why she had a similiar answer for me as the guy in the 2nd story, cause it was funny. I ended up leaving the clan shortly after cause I was too embarrassed to show my face... or rather username I guess. It was never anything serious but it's still embarrassing remembering how naive and stupid I was. And it might seem silly but the whole thing did hurt when I was younger and caused me to have trust issues for a while

What does the OP mean it doesn't sit right with them. Do they have a sister or a loved one that they would like to see that happen to?? If tom had an issue with Clancy he should have gone after Clancy, man to man, Bit*h move to go after his innocent sister that had nothing to do with it. Since he posted what he did online there's no doubt he did it and I don't fault Clancy or his family for taking revenge. I would definitely sleep good at night too if I feed Clancy the information he needed. The "justice system" most likely would have convicted him and probably then let him out early for good behavior🙄. Well, tax payers can sit this one out.

It's actually a very common way of people realizing they're trans, by being their preferred gender in a game and being seen as that gender in game, before realizing they can be that irl. To that first story, YIKES! The chat logs could be recovered unless the devices have been formatted multiple times -- but I get why Tom got what happened to him. What a mess, & 3 young lives have been destroyed and several others irreparably changed. Yes, I get this might be fake. If it is, the person did a good job writing it. The second story -- I've met people like that. They're called sociopaths. To the 3rd story: the lesson you learned is that there's two sides to every story, so you should check the details before getting drawn in. 4th story: yeah, that's how they tend to start the brainwashing. It's called spiritual abuse.
