If you're not interested in someone, then why fake interest? What is the ultimate goal here?? Also what the hell could be wrong with someone that they only take an interest in you when you're winning? It doesn't matter if somebody is winning or losing, in your eyes. Faked interest is still fake interest, and I cannot understand why anyone would do this unless they were insecure or feeling the effects of peer-pressure (which is still insecure), manipulative and dishonest (a byproduct of major insecurity), or because they have some kind of personality disorder. I'm not including those moments of forced politeness like when you're introduced to somebody new or trying to make peace with a former enemy or something diplomatic like that. But when you continue to pursue a level of connection with somebody you are not interested in, I cannot think how a secure and self aware person would do it. Please inform me if I'm missing something.
