I’ve got a minds eye and for years I used to daydream until it got to be a problem. It started happening automatically by itself. The habit of daydreaming rewired my brain. I found out others have had this happen as well. It’s a mental condition called maladaptive daydreaming. It’s an intense cycle that becomes addictive. I was able to disrupt the cycle and stop it. A year later I went through some trauma in the work place. Now, I’ve got really bad anxiety. But no daydreaming. I still visualize things very clear. This is proof that the mind change its neural plasticity. I know I can beat this anxiety.

I have not listened to this video yet Anthony, but I did just receive your book in the mail titled, Math Numbers and Equations. As I prepare for my last major mountain to get my degree. Referring to my math classes. I really like the suggestion about just peering into rooms as you walk through your memory palace. That was a great suggestion and cleared up a lot of confusion I had when you used to talk about never crossing your path as you walk through.I also like how you often say don't overthink a memory palace and if you have to think about a memory palace being a good memory palace, it's not a good memory palace.

Hey man, I have this question. How do you make your mental images more "stable" ? Like for example with the candle, it to tends to be in some kinda flux (like those AI genereted video clips) slightly changing shapes, colors unlike a real candle :) The effect is even more present, when I try visualize more complex settings, like a place, or a person. Like for example, when I visualize a room, sometimes the couch is brown leather, then it changes to white leather... Is there a "mindhack" to make the images more stable, or I just have to practice more?
@AnthonyMetivierMMM12 сағат бұрын
Thanks for this question. Two things: First, try breathing into them, literally like you're filling a balloon (or whatever metaphor like filling a tire, etc. work best for you). Second, let the need to do this go. It's fine for images to be unstable so long as you're using the combinatory logic I teach. In both cases, the answer likely is to practice more, but not willy-nilly. Use L.U.C.K. (learning using correct knowledge). If you haven't already studied a full course or program to make sure you have all the nuts and bolts working in unison, that will help you with both image stability and flexibility so you won't need stability. This is important because in many cases, there isn't time to see images at all. So you need the combinatory logic much more than images.

I don't know what will happen with any certainty, but I have seen many others turn this around. It just takes a bit of practice, self-reflection and a burning desire to see it through to the point of transformation. That can sound like a lot of requirements in the beginning, but people can often build up the necessary steam as they go. It's just a matter of planning the practice and showing up consistently. The "open secret" behind success in many things.
