Thank you for a very analytical and middle-class explanation, useful even for a Japanese person (I'm from Tohoku, which is looked down upon by other parts of Japan), and a touch of English humour which I found nostalgic.

This comparison was very meaningful. By the way, the $150 steakhouses you experienced are scattered all over Japan. I think there are 20 in a big city like Osaka. And they are definitely high-end and valuable restaurants in Japan. Also, if you spend more than $150, there are restaurants that serve even more delicious meat dishes. For example, there are meat restaurants with Michelin stars, and some highly rated meat specialty restaurants in Kyoto that offer $500 course meals. However, it is a different story if you ask whether it is worth paying that much. But like you, you can't know until you actually try it. In any case, this restaurant is definitely a high-end restaurant that serves high-quality meat. Although $150 is expensive, it is a price that can be said to be excellent value for money, and I agree with your evaluation that it was the best lunch. Also, the service was good, which is a very, very important point. Also, if you want to enjoy meat, there are yakiniku restaurants in Japan, where you can grill your own meat and eat it. I think this is around $70 to $80 per person, but I recommend it if you have the opportunity.Thank you for enjoying Japan.

Thank you so much for your thorough comment! I really do think the lunch was worth the money and I hope to experience something similar again in the near future. I think I will be visiting Japan again soon 😁

The first restaurant's ``Ikinari Steak'' is all just American beef.

You guys are doing a good job hunting for the delicacies of Asia. Next time you're in Osaka, I recommend the Prime Wagyu Beef Steak Loin from "New Matsusaka Fuse Honten". Only 7500 yen ($52 USD) for a similar or maybe even better experience as your $150 USD meal. So you can eat this more regularly. This is literally my favorite meal in all of Japan and a MUST have when I am in Osaka.

1/2 English It's not something you have to force! If you want Matsusaka beef, you'd be better off eating it at a prestigious restaurant in Matsusaka City! Can you guarantee the quality? There are many famous beef producing areas across the all regions in Japan, such as Matsusaka beef, Hida beef, Yamagata beef, and Miyazaki beef, but the breeding cattle are originally Tajima beef, which is the basis for Kobe beef in Hyogo prefecture. Based on that knowledge, it's a bit of a stretch to say that you have to eat Matsusaka beef.
