I have my very first appointment with my RE & I hope she’s as compassionate and understanding as you! I’m so grateful I’ve stumbled upon your channel! I’ve been subscribed for a while now but this video really hit home for me! I was diagnosed with endometriosis 2 years ago and I’m finally starting my baby journey and I’m so excited and nervous at the same time. My appointment is in 10 days and I’m ready❤

Thank you for another great video! Will endometriosis and adomyosis impact implantation? Can IVF increase the fertility?

I was diagnosed with endometriosis with a laparoscopy and they removed the lesions but it did not help us conceive unfortunately. We tried IVF and we only got 7 eggs and only 4 matured but ultimately they didn’t make it and we were left with nothing. I had a bunch of follicles so It made me wonder if endometriosis could affect your eggs. I wish I would’ve known this so I could have chosen to freeze my eggs when I was younger. I’m only 32 but if I could’ve been diagnosed earlier maybe I would’ve had more options with my fertility. I hope endometriosis will continue to be studied and we will continue to learn more about this disease. Thank you for making this video!

Thank you for this video, Dr. Shahine! We've been trying to conceive for 10 years now without any results. We are both 38 years old, not so young anymore. We did 3 IUI and 1 ICSI which failed. The 2 eggs that we had didn't fertilise and so i also got some news that a polyp was seen inside the uterus. So i got an appointment with an amazing doctor that examined me and said that i also might have endometriosis that could been seen and diagnosed during the polyp removal, if i agree with an abdominal histeroscopy. Of course i said yes. And i did have a mild endometriosis, not one but four polyps and the tubes were also blocked. The ICSI treatment would've also stopped even if we we've won one or two embryos, because of the polyp. I tend to think that the egg quality was really bad. My progesteron level was also high which would've also blocked the implantation. But i really think that everything goes hand in hand together. There's nothing without the other. And the human body is a network. The hormonal system is the boss. If it's messed up then you have no chance. So we will try the second ICSI next month if everything is alright. I hope we get at least one egg that could turn into a much wanted baby. We hope that something improved throughout the whole surgery. Wish all the best to all of you! 🤍

Great video! Exactly what I needed right now. Patients with endometriosis have to go straight to IVF? Is it worth to try IUI first?

I tried IUI for 11 times and finally got pregnant, but ending up with ectopic pregnancy. When a doctor did surgery on me to remove the partially ruptured fallopian tube, they found out that I got Endometriosis. I did tell lots of doctors about the very serious menstrual pain but they all dismissed it. I wish my condition could be found earlier so that I could move on to IVF earlier. But at the same time I feel relieved that finally my unexplained fertility can be explained.

The difficulty in diagnosing is due to providers being dismissive ! I had painfully periods for my first ever period saw countless doctors and was not diagnosed until 22.

Can endo be a cause for recurrent miscarriage? My 13 week loss came back as “normal”

I am so incredibly sorry for your loss. I'd suggest asking your medical provider for answers to your personal situation. I cannot give personal medical advice on social media, but I have many resources I can share with my patients. See my website, drlorashahine.com, for links to: 1. My book 'Not Broken: An approachable guide to miscarriage and recurrent pregnancy loss' at amazon.com 2. KZbin videos on the topic 3. My blog posts I truly hope these resources help! Best wishes ❤🤞🍍

Hi Amanda I've had 8 recurrent miscarriages and I kept getting told it was unknown infertility, I did have 3 small fibroids outside of my uterus and sometimes fibroids cause issues depending if they are inside the uterus after 5 yrs I convinced my obgyn to refer me to surgeon to remove them and during surgery they removed my right fallopian tube due to damage and diagnosed me with Endometriosis 😭 I had surgery 1 months ago. I never had any symptoms, my cycle was regular and only bled for 1-3 days most so Endo had never crossed my mind. I would say get more testing done good luck. Praying for my miracle baby

Thank you for the amazing work you do. I would like to see a video about the relations between being overweight and fertility issues, as I've seen charts claim that the higher weight of the mother, the higher chance of miscarriage.

Amazing videos as usual. Doesn’t apply to me as far as I know, but helps with understanding. Do you have any videos about procedures to open one blocked fallopian tubes? Would be interested to know about stories about successful pregnancies after tube is opened (and without IVF).

I have a question! So I have strongly suspected endometriosis, and have been trying to conceive for 2 years. Progesterone indicates I am ovulating. They want to do an HSG first and then IVF if no blockage. However I am very uncomfortable with the idea of an HSG as I know it is going to be very painful for me. Is there no option to elect to just go into a laparoscopy to do all of that? I need it for pain regardless of the tubal part. I’m not sure what to do. I just don’t know if I can make myself go to an HSG with how awful it seems! 😢

My adhesion cause my almost 12 week miscarriage. I have had surgery to remove it. Just bc ivf gets you pregnant doesn’t mean the endo won’t cause miscarriages 😢

I’m seeing a fertility specialist right now and they totally dismissed me when I asked if it could be the cause of it and said I didn’t need to look into it.

Sigh - maybe there’s a low chance in your personal situation but patients shouldn’t feel dismissed - I wish the doctor explained WHY they feel that way about you

@@drlorashahine yes I have the symptoms and a lot of pain so I was hoping to find out if it could be contributing but she was like endometriosis doesn’t contribute to infertility definitely was hoping to see you it’s about 3 and a half hours away contemplated the switch not sure how far out you’re booked

How it’s it controversial, if a endometrioma ruptures and compromises the ovaries that’s it for fertility. Really depends on the stage of endo
