I've recently learned how to use solvent to blend and I use Gamsol. It breaks them down so throughly that they become a bit like paint and ensure no tooth is left showing.

I bet, does it affect how greasy they feel to the touch or how easy they can be smeared?
@crystalgillis9296 Жыл бұрын
Nope, they can still be smeared. You just have make sure the solvent has evaporated first.

when it comes to blending I use odorless mineral spirits or paint thinner because it does not only blend but it removes the stickiness of the oil pastels and makes it dry to touch. I heard also that some artists use linseed oil that is used with oil paints because it dries over time but I have not tried it yet, I hope that was helpful.

Thank you so much, yes it is very helpful 🙂 I didn't know it was possible up make them dry like so 👍
