As a talent agent I have to say I really enjoyed this video. This is excellent advice. How she mentions doing open calls with casting directors is a must. I know with COVID you cannot do them but us talent agents definitely go to showcases as well.

No need to be patient! Get to work finding roles or MAKING roles that will make YOU, the commodity, more valuable and you will def get picked. Did you try the 5th thing?

First your video quality is amazing! You are truly a professional. Second these are great tips! Third, it’s a little different in my area though where there are only like 3 agencies and like 3 casting directors worth their weight in salt. So we basically just have to use all these tips specifically geared toward just those 3. Which can make it easier because every casting director is definitely working with one of those 3 agents, but it’s also harder because of the competition. It’s kinda nerve wrecking! Thank you for the video though!

@whitneyMJ Awesome! So glad you are getting value from this. I made this channel for people like you. I had NO credits booking the national commercial, and I only made $300. But everyone saw me as it was playing everywhere and you would never have known I got paid so little. It was literally playing in the background as I was pitching myself to an agent and I was like, that’s me!

Good question, I think it’s important to ask how you can help them in any way. See if there might be something you can exchange with them-but also make sure you are fully ready for reps so THEY look good too

Of course you can! But it would be a good idea to make sure you have great credits in the country you are in, before pursuing a US agent. Of course you can always try without :)

they don't but it, can be pretty tricky getting an agent that is not local. Much better if you can rack up credits where you are, maybe get a southeast agent then have the LA and NY agents come to you

Oh no not at all. That’s the industry standard, that’s where you can find series regular and tv and movies. Central Casting is known ONLY for background work so if you want to quit background acting, go to actors access immediately.
