Back in the 80's...We have the NCC Team ,made up of best Collegiate players , handled by a Coach who have deep knowledge in Scientific Basketball and International Game,Reinforced by 3 Naturalized Players and Bankrolled by a Major Company. The Team was kept together for years and always played in almost all Major Competition from Asia and International Invitational Basketball Tournament. It's a Continuing Program and Recruitment of best Young Talent and Developing them to be the Best of their Potential. Financial Matter is also addressed by giving them a Contract ,so as not lured to play Professional and disrupt the Project and its Visions.. Eventually they can turn Pro, after serving the Country, with another Young Talents taking their place!

I believe need develop with full support after scouting to rest regions of Philippines from High School-College pinoys whose height 6'5-6'10 (note most common average found in our Country) to able move like Jason Castro/Terrence Romeo with height 6'5-6'7 into guard position. Then train with full support by our SBP with partnership with PBA the scholarship program if discovered a young age height possibly reach 6'10 above that able mobilize like 6'5-6'7 I watch recent posted video YT too of other social-bloggers media interviewed coach Yeng Guiao what need to develop for our Pinoy players into that height from 6'5 moving like Jason Castro with same talent because if we notice from Serbia there 6'8 seem like our level of Lassiter (6'3) so coach Yeng Guiao is correct to says "How can our 5'10 same quality talent able guard those 6'5 taller than Castro/Romeo"? How can too like Fajardo able guard defensively those 6'11-7'0 but moving like the level Lassiter only 6'3 can Fajardo able containing freeze? This dream is long been in the mind set of China since they joined Asia basketball back around in 1975 their Sport leaders notice that "Height is Might" in this kind of sport. So they begin scouting to the rest of the regions of China whose height above 6'9 and they able discovered plenty of those height (Our Philippine Sports Commentators belittle that full program support of China seeking taller they reasons "Yes they were taller but LAMPA" (means as "sleeping giant") a metaphor language and our pinoy able use their speed. But China sports program dream did not stop they continue seeking taller and train them that they can move like our level of Gilas height example 6'4 being wingman or shooter but their wingman or shooter whose height is about 6'7 above! Can we guard it one on one? So today China able beat the Philippines S.Korea and Japan or Iran (Lebanon, best in the middle east) when the reformation of Government in the 70s they reach it only in the 80s they lead the gold medal standing in Asia including basketball! That is what I observing since I love Basketball in the Crispa-Toyota era on TV and today. Yes, Pinoy had plenty of talent and skill on basketball but we are content and at-ease with that athletism speed we overlook that Basketball is taller game player necessity. Many give their attention on that quality like of Castro-Romeo even Perez but if we can develop that alike of Perez whose hieght about 6'7 above I will not double standard thinking we unable beat Serbia or Italy WE CAN! Sad for example, we have taller like of Ranidel De Ocampo but he is only like freezing under the ring not moving like of Troy Rosario never give attention since his high school or College days to full support training him his talent hiding on average skill normal size of Pinoy standard than hard training him if the mind set culture of our SBP (cite example maybe their is name before the era of MVP) able use him in the national team ahead future but not. Yes he was drafted into PBA interest only his height to defend the area of ring side but unable bring the ball to the other side. Do Filipino height ONLY average about 6'5 consider center? Any height over 6"6 consider weak skill? Unlike the like of Lebron James whose 6'8 but move like Jason Castro speed and talent? There is a scientific saying that it is part of the gene/chromosome that most pinoy average height (even Asian) is below 6'5 as far as basketball is concern but for European consider only a guard position. So there is no hope for it? We have hope for it! It is like a person only develop his physical at home washing - cleaning- go mall but one face a person whose habit "Jogging everyday" they were on same age level whom do we think if there is a contest participate in a RUN Contest? For sure the one who regular jog shall win! There are two kind of person one is "Trying Hard" to study the school lesson and the other one simply not because he is born genius. Like example myself I remember in high school days I notice my classmate does not go to Library just enjoy his age on socialization most of his time he got always honor. But me I need to study hard for it to gain same reward, result I beated him on top exam in our class! in short the like of Ranidel De Ocampo or Fajardo if they give early attention support them training them develop their skill because they were not like of Lebron James or kevin Durant born normal that talent they need to work hard like Manny Pacquiao did today able beat taller than him. (P..S. I share my comments hope our SBP able review of coach Yeng Guiao observtion while at World Cup what lack in our player compare to world level game. The social bloggers media video I share similar with Eric Menk and some I quoted to mentioned his name their in like of Sport On Air - Gilas Pilipinas: Yeng Guiao Payo Sa SBP Mag-Develop Na Ng Malalaking Guwardiya Sa Mga Batang Player & my Sport Hoops - Ang Pag Bibitiw Ni Coach Yeng Guiao Bilang Head Coach Ng Team Gilas) God Bless and still I believe we can develop our taller pinoy and scouting too Fil-am give them traning focus support because there are many Fil-am or European-Pinoy we never scouting not their hobby playing basketball but other [ex. Australlian I forget name but he is tall about 6'11 still young but not give SBP attention it is only family support or maybe he stop?]

this is the best video that you've made Major Payne, not taking shots on anyone but being honest and giving an honest opinion on how to improve basketball as a whole, not just professionally but the whole BASKETBALL nation starting from a very young age, setting the mindset from an early age, that's when we can have a quality players to compete in any international competitions... i love you for making this video.

Shooting, rebounding, a guy who can break defenses off the dribble who's a willing passer, players who are willing to play diminished roles. We should start from there. We stretch the floor, have a guy who can take advantage of the spaces created by shooters, and we clean the glass. If we figure that out, we are halfway there. It's much easier to figure out the problem if you have a team that fits together.
@sensesence4475 жыл бұрын
most important is the grassroots program. have the young players that have the height be trained to be more athletic, faster and develop the guard skills. the problem in our basketball culture is when a player grows to be at the 6'6" high they are automatically pinned to the center position. in the international level our fast guards are matched by fast guards of the opposing team but are taller by 4-6 inches. you get what i mean. and i think this is most important thing to do, and that goes with the 5 things you said. its grassroots.

Congrats Major Pain! Your idea is great. Well, to backup your proposal here is my inputs. Short Term Plan 1. Best Lineup 2. Hire best qualifications Coach With International Coaching Experience 3. Get The Best Suited Naturalized Player 4. Best Training And Practice Games Long Term Plan A. Scouting and Development of players 1. Develop Players Starting 9 years old 2. Gilas Basketball Academy (2 schools 1 in north and 1 in south) 3. Gilas Basketball Culture should be one of the curriculum. 3. Select potential Basketball Player from Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao. 4. Early scouting of Filipino kids abroad who has the extra ordinary skills and talent. B. Coaches and Scouts 1. Develop our own not only coaches but also Basketball Scientists 2. Have a best Basketball Scouts not only for locals but also for Filipino in other country and for Naturalized Players too. C. The Selected Players 1. Give a competitive salary and incentives to the selected members of 3 teams. 2. Selected players shall have bond for at least 1 FIBA WC game or 5 years. 3. Gilas Academy graduate who will not be selected as member of neither of the 3 Gilas Team shall be allowed to play in any of the ball clubs local or international. C. The Gilas Team 1. Make 2 to 3 Gilas Teams that would complete for Southeast Asia, Asia, and World Competition. 2. Join international competitions (outside FIBA), competition such as Jones Cup but this time in Europe and/or America. 3. Gilas Teams must a permanent team (not being dissolved after the competition). To sustain, 1 is in PBA and the other is in ABL. The other 1 Team could the Cadet Team and could act also as pool of players that if in case of conflict of schedule they could be mixed with the PBA Team or ABL Team to represent for the FIBA competition. More power to your program.

I agree with your comments and suggestions Mr. Major Pain. For FIBA World Cup 2023, this is the best way to do. But for FIBA World Cup 2027, we can enhanced our program further. The 10 to 12 year old boy of today would be the best option to play in that competition. We still have enough time to train who ever that boy is to play basketball not only with balanced and quickness, but to play tough, physical basketball with decency. I just hope and pray that our Filipino sports leaders should be like you, and instead of exchanging not so good words they help each other to improve the Philippine Sports.

#5 is the hardest coz one of the biggest changes they need to make is create a reasonable off season or time off in the PBA for the players to rest and heal, make the selection,preparation and scouting of the teams that we will face in the competition. We prioritize PBA games so much na kakachampion pa lang ng isang team sa conference tapos after a few weeks start na agad ng another conference, we're thinking local instead of global. SBP, Gilas officials, PBA, all the basketball community, sana po maging eye opener to for us. We need more exposure sa international games outside asia yun lang po. God bless our team 🇵🇭🙏

Separate program, few PBA vets (later addition sa practices) with this kind of line up: Bigs: Kai, Edu, Go (stretch big) & Fajardo Wings: 1. McCullough (naturalized) 2. 3 and D player: Paras (need more maturity), LaSalle’s Malonzo (eligible?) & Tamayo (need more speed), or Rosario Guards: 1. SG: D.Ildefonso, Abando or Parks (all long and athletic with good shooting percentages) 2. PG: JDL, Rivero (or Martin if eligible)

I feel like's Rivero's not suited for PG as he often looks to score more than to create plays. He's athlethic, yes, but in terms of IQ and maturity, there are other options. He's going to be like Ravena who likes to score but ends up turning the ball over, or miss crucial shots.

I think it's also a good idea to have experienced coaches in college teams. Instilling the right mentality at an early stage for Filipino players will make them more disciplined. Look at how Ateneo is playing right now with Tab Baldwin. I bet with everything they've learned from Baldwin, guys like Thirdy, Go, or the Nieto brothers would make good additions to the Gilas line-up in the future.

1. Add more shooters on the lineup, not just average shooters but exceptional or explosive shooters. Remember in 2014 FIBA World, the games were close because every time the opponent hit 3s, we were also hitting 3s. Examples are Romeo, Wright, Lassiter. When they are on fire, they are on fire. 2. Give Junemar more minutes, and plays that centers on him like what Coach Austria likes to do. Junemar posts up, pass the ball to him down low, and he can choose to kick out the ball to outside shooters or make the shot himself. Junemar, he's not just big, he has moves and game IQ. Obviously he just wasn't given huge minutes cause coaches often likes to put Blatch on center position with Aguilar on PF. 3. Bring in energy guys. In 2014, we have Pingris. We could have had Abueva last time. 4. Train these young lads and get them beefed up and ready for 2023: Sotto, Edu, Tamayo, Tolentino, Martin (I believe he's eligible). 5. Longer prep time. Join in more pocket tourneys in Europe and LatAm. No SEABA and Jones Cup please. My "dream" lineup for Gilas in 2023: C: Fajardo, Sotto, Tolentino PF: Sanggalang, Erram, Tamayo, Edu SF: Paras, Rosario, Abueva SG: Wright, Lassiter, Perez PG: Bolick, Romeo, Martin Just my "dreams" and thoughts.

My suggestions to prepare for 2023: 1. Hire Alapag as national team head coach - he is a pro-player and national player himself (unlike Chot, Yeng). He has proven his coaching skills. He will be respected by the players having been successful there, guiding Phil in FIBA Asia, and gave tough competition in FIBA World. Then get international coaches like Baldwin as consultants. 2. Get the young guys ready. They will and have to be ripe come 2023. I'm talking about the next generation - I'm talking about Sotto, Edu, Remy Martin, Paras, Juan GDL, 3rdy Ravena, Tamayo, Dave Ildefonso, Troy Rike... these guys need to be trained to fill in roles that they will be playing. The big guys need to play versatile. Tamayo needs to play as a wing/small forward, Paras, Ildefonso need to be developed as shooters.. that's it. The overseas guys don't need training since they're already in tough competition. 3. Never get guys shorter than 6'1. And as much as possible get capable big guys to play the small positions. We can't have our 2 and 3 positions at 6'0 and 6'3. Get taller shooters, get taller playmakers. Force tall shooters to play as wings. 4. Get some veteran PBA players to play. Yes retain CJ Perez, Bolick. Fajardo, Rosario and Aguilar as well if they're still capable. They will be the future leaders of the team. 5. Get Clarkson as the naturalized player. Since it was clear that he cannot play as a local, then at least have him, since he will be the team's best player. He will play shooting guard easily. His stint in Asian games and NBA resume is more than enough, compared to any non-NBA player 6'10-6'11 guy. 6. Your 3rd suggestion. Train as a team, and play/participate in international friendlies against disciplined teams in Europe, Australia/NZ.

Hi Eric, I just want to contribute. the single most important thing that the Philippine team can do, should do and focus on is mastering the 3 point shot. ALL of the players should be able to shoot 3 at a very high % rate, this is an absolute must. 2nd to that is how to defend against the 3 point shot. thats it. if everybody focuses on that alone, I promise you, you will see a huge huge improvement in international competitions. just imagine if the team made the majority of its 3 point shots in those games. its the 3 point shot, everything else comes after.

I agree that the naturalized player should be a center but in my opinion it's best that we get someone who sets good picks, can shoot from the outside and pass.. if you notice the games in the WC there's not a lot of shot blocking centers since teams now rely on prolific shooting.. It's high time we adapt the European way of playing and that's ball movement and shooting at a high percentage..

your right Menk. If I was the SBP I would add you to the assistant coaching list. The most important thing I think you specified was #5 and changing the mindset on how to play the game. Philippine basketball is not like Fiba or vice versa. Players there played a higher approach in basketball. Played as a team, no stars, viewed the opponent at a high level meaning all are equally talented and should take them all serious. Lastly, take a look at Spain, why did they win all contributed. Yes, Rubio played almost a perfect game but did everyone notice the ball distribution or assist he made with everyone contributing . opponents will have a hard time defending.

I’m not great at basketball, but when I play pickup here in America, I learned how important the small things are and am still trying to learn. I can still do better like knowing how guard picks, moving off ball better l, and knowing how to defend certain plays, but regardless of how good you are, many teams I play on, emphasize making the right reads, communicating the right way. I’m honestly not great at those things but I try and I feel in the international stage in basketball, these players can try to learn this. I’m not an expert in the PBA,‘but there needs to be lore 3 and D or high IQ players that prioritize making winning plays and not caring to look cool for the girls or being the best.

I'm all for having Tab back but at the same time I wouldn't put coaching as the Gilas programs' #1 priority right now. Without having any long term plan even with Tab at the helm, we'll just end up repeating the same mistakes over and over again. The current situation already feels like groundhog day so I really wouldn't mind if the SBP take their time and properly assess how the whole Gilas program(youth to senior) moves forward from here.

This is my long-term "young" Gilas Pilipinas crew. The reason I made it a lot younger squad because I think the main problem is the availability of the players (a factor of it is the PBA). So with this kind of build, players will have more time to practice with the team and hopefully our National Team will have enough budget to train their players abroad. Gilas Pilipinas 2023 FIBA World Cup 12-man lineup (24 av. age || 6'8" av. height) PG - Thirdy Ravena 6'3 (26 yrs old) 190 cm PG - Jeron Artest 6'4 (22 yrs old) 193 cm SG - Jordan Clarkson 6'5 (31 yrs old) 196 cm 🏀 SG - Dwight Ramos 6'5 (24 yrs old) 195 cm PG/SG/SF - Kobe Paras 6'6 (26 yrs old) 198 cm SF - Carl Tamayo 6'7 (22 yrs old) 201 cm SF - Troy Rike 6'7 (28 yrs old) 201 cm PF/C - Isaac Go 6'9 (26 yrs old) 206 cm PF/C - Geoffrey Chiu 6'10 (20 yrs old) 209 cm PF/C - AJ Edu 6'11 (23 yrs old) 211 cm PF/C - Sage Tolentino 6'11 (20 yrs old) 211 cm PF/C - Kai Sotto 7'3 (21 yrs old) 221 cm

My naturalized player is Jordan Clarkson. This is because for the first time, we will be having Sotto/Edu joining the Gilas team for a decade at least. Also, Fajardo/Eram are still at their peak for our bigs and can play for the next 3 years for Gias.

No.5 for me is very important, 1 to 4 is achievable in time but no.5 suggestion is far from being develop. The reason is we are very NBA type of basketball. Lets be practical italy serbia france argintina greece Australia spain etc. They have Superstars playing in the NBA thats different from European league but they adopt the system quickly. The time they were called to play international ders no adjustment to be done, NBA is physical fast phase type of basketball, euroleague is systematic basketball beautiful basketball passing shooting almost basic basketball, american calls it boring. SBP PBA should consider changing the entire league into next level of competition. Maybe European league format i guess

Gilas is always having a “major pain“ in the world stage. Great video Sir! Great suggestions!

I don't know how your league looks like but it's very important to have really competitive league, it's way better to have 6-8 teams who have best players and to play strong competition during the season and allow one international player per team so quality will be high. Then you have 2nd, 3rd, 4th divisions and each season one team directly is in/out (first/last place) and 4 teams (2nd, 3rd and 6th, 7th) plays tournament where top two teams goes in higher league, that's the same fot all divisions. That's most important thing.

The UAAP is filled with athletic guard and wing players the Gilas Program should get their hands on ASAP Thirdy Ravena Ricci Rivero Kobe Paras Renz Abando Juan GDL Not to mention the players from the U19 squad fron earlier this year with Ildefonso, Edu, Sotto etc. We should eye on winning games in the 2023 World Cup since we're hosting it. Kalimutan na muna yung Tokyo 2020 bid, wala na yun tanggapin na natin.

Thirdy had been included but wasn’t utilized that much by kalbo
@hoodieboy15155 жыл бұрын
Rivero, Paras, Juan GDL will do nothing and will not give you wins. They're only highlight players. They can't even beat San Beda Lions. Why not talk about Bolick? Enough with the highlight players
@hbrt3355 жыл бұрын
@@hoodieboy1515 I'm saying they have higher ceiling than other guards cause they're bigger and could be more versatile. Bolick and Perez are surely gonna make the next World Cup team especially after their performance on this last one. Right now the players I mentioned are thriving with raw talent. Imagine if they get exposed to better competition and coaching. Imagine if smallest player was like 6'2" we might actually have a chance. Troy Rosario played alot of 3 in Foshan, same with Ranidel during Coach Baldwin's time, but they are natural 4s forced to play 3 because we don't have legitimate wing players. I'm just thinking ahead.
@hbrt3355 жыл бұрын
@@hoodieboy1515 one point though is that Kobe Paras needs to change his mentality. I feel like he thinks he's better than he actually is. I wish he'd be a committed defender so he can fill in the Gabe Norwood role. He has so much potential pero larong mayaman kasi, sayang.
@hoodieboy15155 жыл бұрын
@@hbrt335 fair enough sir. I just think that so many others in UAAP/NCAA are better. Paras, Rivero, Juan GDL might look good but they're not consistent. UP just recently lost to UST with the guards Subido, Mark Nonoy, and Rhenz Abando. I think Renz Abando and Thirdy Ravena should play together, but I see how you did list that. And you're right how Paras still has a potential. I like Mark Nonoy, Dave Ildefonso.. Maybe Melecio of La Salle also.. but Gilas is still undersized. I think Philippines should just stick to SEA games. And, not against European/USA.

from ur 5 suggestions, #5 for me is the most important, our basketball is based on US style of play, even our very own PBA players base there game on there favorite NBA players which is not entirely wrong, whats wrong about it is that we are not genetically blessed like the americans(black americans), from there towering height to there bulky physique and insane athleticism, that we try to do what NBA players do inside the court, kung titingnan ang mga players natin mas maganda ang european style kaso prang triangle offense din yan na dapat matagal ng magkakasama ang mga players,more on system ang european basketball,athletic din cla pero they don't rely too much on that. ung other 4 suggestions ay tlgang posible kasi halos pera lang papagalawin jan, basta may pondo pang scout ng players,pang hire ng FIBA experienced coaches,pang sponsor sa games abroad etc. pero ung #5 hanggat ndi mababago yan wala rin silbe ung 4 na unang suggestions kung maski tau ay ayaw nating tanggapin ang katotohanan na ndi uubrang gayahin ang US basketball base sa kung anong meron tau. and please bawasan ang sobrang PUSO kaya ng mumukha lalong walang quality ang philippine basketball, natural lang na panabla ang sipag at disiplina kung dehado ka sa husay at tankad, dapat sabayan pa din ang sipag at disiplina ng talino sa paglalaro.

I remember 2011 Gilas 1.0, with Raiko Toroman as coach. Douthit as Naturalized player. Chris Tiu, Lutz, Japeth, Lassiter, Casio, Barroca, Baracael were Amateurs / incoming rookie PBA players Alapag, RDO, Taulava were the only PRO players We managed to get 4th place at the FIBA Asia time. But imagine half of that roster are out of UAAP / NCAA with only a few months of training. What if they extended that training, and the amateurs started to train out in the Gilas program in their teens. This way, it can avoid conflict with PBA scheduling. It is just a right mix of European coach, a fit naturalized player, young bloods that are trained out early mixed out with Pros can lead the Gilas to the next level
@Mr.XY35 жыл бұрын
I think the best naturalized player for gilas is a 3D athletic rbounder big. andray is more of a iso of player. but I think andray did everything and all the roles gilas could ask him to do.

And sa PBA sana magkaroon Ng naturalized player Ang bawat team like Yung mga nag-aaral dito as varsity player, payagan silang maglaro sa PBA , kahit Isa lng bawat team,,para masanay Ang mga player natin sa mas malalaking player at para Hindi tayo mahirapan sa pagnaturalized and pagkuha sa kanila and Yung iba baka magsettle na dito sa pinas.
@willieraymundo67255 жыл бұрын
Yes, all your recommendations will help but we need to improve individual skills in all levels like shooting, rebounding and passing skills. Since we don't have a good system right now why not copy that motion offense of the Europeans where the plays are good to watch even if you lose. Shooting can almost be perfected by dedicated practice like the one shown by Shin Dong Pa and you don't need to be tall as demonstrated by Curry and Iverson. Rebounds like that of Rodman who is only 6' 8" but outrebounded many taller players. The technique is perfect timing like jumping ahead of your nearby opponent and most importantly anticipate the bounce and the trajectory of falling balls. Our height is good enough but the skills are way below to Europeans and some Asians.

First:I think there should be a national wide scouting. SBP should start scouting at probably 10 years old.Profiling and Ranking the best players in the country and those Phil Ams who dont have the Philippine passport before 16.I repeat best players in the country,not just in manila, not only in NCR but the best of the best from Luzon, Visayas to Mindanao to International. Second: To easily RANK or profile a player, we must have a NATIONAL LEAGUE in basketball starting in under 10, under 15 and under 18. I know we already have a Palarong Pambansa to showcase their talent, but what I’m talking about is that we must have a league that focus only in Basketball.Profiling and Ranking younger talents makes easy for us to choose on who we must develop and nurture to represent our country someday. Third: After Profiling or Ranking, I thinks It’s time for us to let players choose to be drafted after first year of playing in college just what like the US do. If a player could be drafted at maybe 18 or 19 years old, he will be playing against pro and will be playing like pro at early age.Remember luka doncic became pro at 16. Fourth: DEVELOP our SHOOTING. Compare to other countries,we don’t have the edge in height and strength.Just Imagine if we have 50% field goals in International game. It could be a headache to our opponent and could be a game changer, especially on 40%3pt FG. Last: How about if we develop players play according to their height. We must not expect a good result if our 6’6 power forward guarding 6’10 power forward from other countries, there will always be a big discrepancy on offense and defense. What if we develop players like 6ft- 6’6 will only play the 1 and 2, 6’6-6’8 will play the 3, 6’8-6’10 will play the four and 6’11 and up will play the 5. We have bigs in the Phil but some are underdeveloped or way far behind the levels of international bigs. Let us develop our SF to play like kawhi, bron or KD, our PF to play like Garnett or Anthony Davis, our Centers to play like Dirk or Cousins not just limiting them on the paint and doing post moves. We must innovate and evolve. I think PBA is still playing the 2000’s NBA.

Exactly the same obvious things I have in mind especially the fifth one. You apparently explained it perfectly! My only question Eric is how do you make sure this reaches the ears of the leadership of the Gilas program? Because these recommendations obviously need to be heard and internalized by the Gilas leaderships. Do you send them over electronically as unsolicited advice? Or do you come to their offices uninvited to deliver the message in person? I just believe this message needs to reach them anyhow. Let me know as well, if there’s anything I can do, aside from sharing this video, to help send out the message.

ang pinakamagandang system na dapat na gawin para muling maimprove ang basketball sa pilipinas lalo na sa pagsalang natin sa mga international competition ay ibalik natin ang sistemang inaply ng micaa at ito rin ang gayahin ng pba, 2 conference in 1 season the all filipino conference nov 15 to feb.28 then the reinforce conference allow na kumuha ng 2 import bawat team 6'3 below and 6'6 and above allow to play both during game at ito ay gaganapin naman april 15 t0 july 30 dahil kadalasan ginagawa ang olympic, fiba world cup and asia cup at asian game between sa patapos ng summer, last week of august to the early part of autumn first week of nov. para mabigyan ng mahabang preparasyon ang national team. at during march 1 to april 15 idaos at muling ibalik ang kaunaunahan major basketball leauge sa pilipinas before micaa ang national open senior basketball leauge na pagtutulugan ng samahang basketball, pba board at mpbl board pero ang samahang basketball ang pinaka chairman. at compulsary na sumali ang lahat ng team sa pba at 10 team sa mpbl the 8 quarter finalist and 2 wild card then 3 team each from ncaa and uaap, the winner the runner up and the bronze 4 team from other major leauge commercial or varsity then mag imvite tayo at least 4 major club sa ibang bansa from japan, chiina, korea or in middle east like iran or as far as europe or australia then 2 team from abl at ito rin ang paggkakataon na pumili ng 24 best man na pagbabasihan ang performance sa pba all filipino conferce at bubuo ng 2 team ng gilas 12 player each na sasali din sa liga. para na rin sa preparasyon para sa mga tatahakin major international leauge kung inyong matatandaan after gilas good ferformance in world cup sya naman nakarirrimarin na performance sa asian game. dapat kung may dalawang major leauge na sasalihan bubuo dapat ng 2 team separate bound like the old micaa day, a total of 40 team ang magpaparticipate sa national open senior and will be group to 8 with 5 team each then the 3 best record advance to the second round example group a will be join by group b w/ cross over series carry over win/loss then the the 2 best team in group a and b wil advance to the quarter final facing best 2 team in group c and d 1st vs 2nd then the 2 winner of group a, b, c and d will face the 2 best in group e, f , g and h for semi final both are knock out contest then the winner on each group will be face in the championship knock out contest fiba hybrid system rule will be apply. every team has a chance to win even collegiate team can beat pba team . pba best ball club liike smb maybe affected beacause maybe their 4 to 5 best player is in the line up of gilas, pba team and mpbl team are not allowed to reinforced by foreign player collegiate team allowed their resident import player to play and it also a major series for pba team dahil ito na bale ang pinaka 3nd conference dahil kung winner ka ng 2 pba conference and they miss the national open senior hindi ka mataatawag na grand slam dapat mapagwagian mo rin ito para tanghaling kang grand slam
