Yes. Agree. Shoes can class up a look easily. You can also trade in sneakers for a pair of loafers or heels and that’ll do the trick.

Good accessories like a brooch, silk scarf, belt, sunglasses or even high-quality eyeglass frames really elevate a look if they complement your clothes. It probably helps to consider *why* you want to "look expensive." I don't see how looking like I have unearned wealth would benefit me, but I certainly would like to appear successful, put-together, and with my finger on the pulse of what's going on...and all those things do the job nicely.

I think this is about looking chic rather than 'expensive'. In my part of the world, it is bad taste to go around with designer bags that spell out the brand all over them. It would be considered vulgar. People with real money don't do that. But they do look stylish. There are lots of beautiful bags (Rouje does one, or other smaller shops) that will do the trick as well. I often get asked where I got my beautiful bag, by seriously stylish people (Marks and Spencers!). But it is plain leather and looks quality. This is the key I think- quality. It is also how you wear something, not what you wear. By the way, I took one look at the prices of the bags on The Real Real consignment page, out of curiosity, and I couldn't afford even second hand. So...in my opinion, if you are a normal working gal, get a good quality non-designer one and stay within budget. Sure you will look like someone with taste.

True. Designer items with their name or print splashed all over just look like person in trying to hard to look cool (by using someone else's name who is cooler)..

I heard black structured bag. I got a really nice leather one for $8 on consignment. Someday, I'll afford St. Agni or Aesther Ekme.

I agree with your tips for the most part. One thing that does tend to get overlooked often is the Kibbe body type system which can serve as a useful guide. For example Jennifer Aniston is a natural type and that factors into why she looks so good in a jeans and a tee. Someone who’s perhaps a classic type (like myself) can easily wind up looking sloppy in a similar outfit. Although prints aren’t recommended, a Kibbe gamine type can look their best in prints most would consider busy looking. Dressing for your body type (and coloring) goes a long way when it comes to looking ‘expensive’ and well put together.

Honestly, I don't want to look "expensive". I don't want people to look at me and immediately think, "Oh, she's loaded," but rather, "Oh, she looks fantastic, chic, is comfortable with herself, and has her shit together." The coolest, most successful, confident, classy people don't try to look "expensive", they just take care of themselves, own their personal style, and wear good quality pieces that fit and flatter them.

Ref: get a few designer pieces (ie get good quality pieces) - shop boutiques. Typically the buyer for the store will have access to pieces, not available in the mall. Sometimes you can get a reduced price or barter for a piece, you really love. - be cautious at outlet stores. Sometimes the quality isn't the same level, as the main store fronts. - Store brand. Neiman Marcus, Macys, etc. often have designer clothes, made especially for their stores. It may have the Macy's label, but was actual made by the famous designer, and is of good quality. You don't get the logo, but you get the fit, look, and quality. -- 'Last call'. Some high end stores have a 'last act' or 'last call' department or store. Sometimes the designer items are the quality of an outlet store. Sometimes they are high quality. Prices tend to be bearable and sometimes there are clearance sales. - Vacation towns: when planning your vacation, remember to plan your shopping. Fancy hotels carry clothing boutiques. Look online before traveling, to see what stores might be available. Even ski resorts and little towns in Arizona have hidden gems.

You can buy prints but make sure they are not too loud if they are cheap. Buying preowned silk, cashmere, wool, and leather is really nice and it won't break the bank. I think silk, cashmere, and leather feel way better than their synthetic counterparts unless they are more luxurious. Some polyester feels like silk. All materials and designers are not made equal.

I think most patterns can look cheap, esp if they are trendy (ex: big roses, chevron, camouflage) but others like houndstooth, certain plaids and even stripes can be classic and elegant when dressed up right...but when in doubt I do go for solids over prints. 👍❤️

If you wear small flowers they look good too. Bigger flowers look good if it is a high end brand because they make them look fancy (most of the time).

In my opinion, we need to know hour body type/best colors ,then we can start to figure it out how to look expensive. Because if you don't know what is the best lines for your body ,and the best color for your skin tone, you gonna follow all these tips and still not look good.

My tip (and this is in no offense to the video maker) but piercings (outside of normal one in each ear) and visible tattoos instantly make one look cheap and not expensive. I also think losing weight or wearing shape wear to smooth out the midsection.

"FIT IS EVERYTHING". Getting clothing that looks expensive but is cheap sadly does not work. Give it a try and go out with peeps that wear an outfit that is 1-2k. You see the difference right away. And honestly a professional Stylist should not have to make a video on how to be groomed as it will attract clients you don't want to work with in the first place. However I watched it for the sake on learning what not to do.

Secure people with class and taste don't need to stick out by looking like a clown. That actually reeks of desperation and screams "I have low self-esteem! I lack internally and am probably depressed! I need attention! Look at me!! It's very evident and sad. You're the ones who look like you're trying to impress strangers.

I am not sure what tailor you use but I have never used one with prices that great - yet the point of a tailor is great. Also neutral colors is another tip I agree with 100%.. Lastly Lauren girl come on with all the jeans (you wear them a lot ). The jean brigade does not need members. So sick of jeans on everyone everywhere! We all need to stop with this crutch - love you just not the jeans!
