Hey I have a question. I know you are adding a lot of effects directing onto the track. So would you wait to do all this stuff until the song is pretty much done? Like is this part of the mixing process?

that's a great question... it's a personal preference... if you do it afterwards, there might be a lot things you might miss as you have to keep track of all things you left for the future, and it also kinda become boring as it feels like you're doing things again. i like to mix along with producing, because sometimes lot of good ideas appear as you're making the track which you might forget afterwards.

@@wolfieodimm9151 thank you for the insight. This has been the part that’s always been a bit confusing for me. People say that when you go into mixing they need empty tracks (without effects) but I feel that such a large part of my creative process is using a bunch of effects.

@@trceb people ask for empty stems/tracks because they want to work with as raw sounds as possible... because if you give them "effected" tracks they don't know what frequencies you might have cut. they don't know if the original could've sounded better their way.. they can't recreate them. but when you're mixing yourself there's nothing to worry about as you very well know what you've done and can also undo them...
