Scott I absolutely love you and your channel, you rock! Here's a great way to make your piggies love you. When you want to cuddle grab your piggie and lay back. Put your piggie in your shirt just under the collar, either with an under shirt on not depends on your comfort. The piggie gets a hidey place so he or she doesn't feel exposed or vulnerable and when they lay down they can feel your heart beat. Also they get more familiar with your sent. I have a piggie named Daisy who loves nothing more then to snuggle with me in my shirt as we lay back and chill for hours, Watching movies, tv or Scotty's Animals channel! I've even fallen asleep with her there before and she always tells me when she needs to go back. This is how I learned that guinea pigs dream like humans and dogs do. Sometimes after Daisy has fallen asleep on my chest I'll feel her legs wiggle like she's dreaming about running around or something. It's so cute but just Incase it's a bad dream I gently rub her back.

We have three pigs, a mom and 2 babies. Both my children claimed one of the babies so my significant other and I claimed the mama as ours (even though they all get love from all of us.) Every morning the mama (Phoenix) lays on my significant others chest but she thought his nipple was food and bit him. 😆

My four piggies have been trained to move on to a covered circular pillow so they can be gently lifted out of the cage. They get treats when the pillow comes to a stop. It is repeated to return them back into the cage. A happy and predictible start to cage cleaning and playtime. Try laying down on your belly when playing with your piggie. Mine love exploring my hair. Time and patience is required so interact with them daily.

I love watching you with them! I have four girls right now in my huge c&c cage (5x3), and when I feed them I start by just opening the cage (we have a cat) and setting my hand inside. I talk to them calmly and ask them who wants to smell my hand. Sgt Pepper, who I have had for a couple of years, checks me out thoroughly. The others, who I got from a family who needed to regime them due to allergies, I've only had for a few months as I got them after Pepper's sister died. The three younger ones show their personalities. The bravest one, Lion (who will bite when cornered), is nearly as comfortable checking out my hand as Pepper. Lightning is always curious but as soon as her nose touches my hand she runs away. Thunder is the most timid, and always runs to the farthest corner when I come in the room. But I am immensely pleased to say that she now comes within an inch of my hand during the evening "smell my hand" period. She isn't yet taking food directly from my hand, but the others do and I know she'll come around with their example.

My guinea pigs love their hay fairy! ...the hay fairy is the bag it comes in, but I like to think it also extends to me 🤣 most will run up to the front of their pens for kisses. I usually keep track in my gunia journal what I give my awesome little Lysol. I hold him a lot, let him crawl all over me, I talk to him all the time, I let him run around in my room and got some chew toys made of Timothy hay for him. He absolutely loves blueberries and strawberries and parsley lol. I love him SO MUCH. my life is so much better with him in it. He really loves my fiance who is a huge animal lover. They bonded before he bonded with me, even! John is very patient and caring with animals and humans. Lysol gets visibly excited when John comes home from work 😍

All of our GPs “hold it” as long as possible when held. They also let you know when they need to go potty. They start getting antsy. You have about a 15 minute window. I have also never been bitten hard enough to be painful. Princess was a nibbler, but it was always very controlled. None of these behaviors are taught. I find this amazing.

All my pigs were rescues, Linus was under a blanket in a cage all alone since he was a baby, Margarette was in someones closet alone with the door shut, there was a male also in another cage that didn't make it poor little guy, and Joe Joe is the classic tough guy with a checkered past that lived all alone at a pet shop. They fought daily, now their fine, get along, fat and happy. If you adopt or get a single Guinea pig take it back you failed already, get 2, pick a noise and make it when you come in, if they look bored move everything around in their pen, they have to check everything lol.

My piggies all do the same thing. When my boyfriend gets home from work, they start to squeal because they know it’s snack time. The squealing intensifies as he goes to the fridge, down the stairs, and even more as he ruffles the bag our veggies are kept in! Carrots are their favorite!

Mine popcorn and run around like crazy everytime I put them back in their cage as I always try and change it up or add new things. I'm a new piggie mom with 3, mom and 2 babies. What is your cage set-up like? I need to add more levels and space as I feel even their minimum of a 2 x 6 c and c is not enough for them. I'd give them a whole room to roam but it's not feasible where I live.

I know this video was uploaded some time ago but we just got guinea pigs for our 4 and 6yr old. As a child i had one guinea pig and a rabbit, obviously this was a very long time ago now but knowledge was different then and now you would never put a Guinea pig alone or with another species. This video was super helpful and im learning lots and in a week ive grown so attached to these little guys. I find that facing the piggie bum against me and using a mirror reflection to administer syringe medication in the side of the mouth seems to be easier. Milo prefers his reflection to mine, much prettier. Your all so sweet. X Hayden

I love when people give their pets human names. 😆 When my daughter was 4 we got her an aquarium full of different sea creatures, including about 15 minnows. I told her she had to name everyone. So she points to half the minnows and says, "these are Sophia and the rest are Gary." 😆 Touche, touche.

You can dilute it with a little water to lighten the taste. We had one who liked it, but couldn't handle it full strength. Be sure to always wash and dry the syringe before dipping back into the bottle. The preservative in the formula is only effective for the solution - not for lots of added water and microbes from a used syringe. In fact, I use a disinfected cap from an old juice container to measure out a little water then add the vitamin C, mix together and suck up with the syringe. The stuff in the bottle stays more sanitary that way. (I make bath and body products so had to learn a lot about how preservatives work in hydrous solutions)

I noticed Billy was doing the same things that my pig Sugar does. Piggy kisses! Lol. And snuzzles. Lol. And I've had him since he was a baby as well. When ever he gets scared I pick him up and he just coos away. And then he eventually calms down and realizes everything is OK, and he wants to go back home. Lol
