Not always true that one extender to the other degrades the signal. I have been using the same situation for years. It is a tiny bit slower most of the time but not a significant difference. In fact, sometimes it actually tests just as fast and occasionally faster. Believe it or not. Linksys extenders talking to a Netgear Nighthawk router.

This is regarding to Question #4: You must disable DHCP settings on your extender if you are going to keep the same SSID as the mesh to use as a wireless extender to a mesh node. Without the extender in the garage, my iphone was getting 90mbs to a mesh node which is in between the garage and the main node. But with the extender wirelessly connected to that same mesh node I was getting 160mbs.

i hope you get a chance to try the mesh system Eero. and see what happens with it after a month or so and catch what it does that you don’t know about if you don’t know what your looking for. i got some info i’d love for you to see on them and what they where doing in my background. or if they only hit a few people

Hi Liron, can you answer this question to which I couldn't find the answer anywhere online? All the outlets in my house are positioned horizontally. Would this hamper the positioning of the antennae on a plugged-in extender? If yes, would using a short extension cord to allow the extender to stand upright be advisable? Thank you.

What do I do I live in California and my stepdad bought at&t and the house we live in the router has to go up stairs in my mom’s closet and we bought a extender for down stairs in the living room and my room is by the front door and I get only 1 mbps on my PS4 and lag a lot I can’t even use my phone sometimes I have to wait for everybody to go to sleep to have some stable internet to play on my PS4

I have Comcast and my house is old. We installed via hardwire a separate router upstairs, been using 600-700 GB a month. September 29 I installed tp- link RE230 extender via Wi-Fi to the Comcast modem/router to get stronger service in the downstairs bedroom. My usage has more than doubled. There has been no other difference in usage by any one in the house. By the 6th we had used 600GB as of today the 13th we are at 1200 GB. Could this be directly related to the extender communicating with the modem? I’m at a loss for the increase expect for this and I rarely connect to the extender.

Metal obviously interferes with WiFi signal. What would be ideal is to run an ethernet cable from your router in your home out to the building and there put a WiFi Extender so you get WiFi in that building.

question about WIFI and PC's? I heard that people can hack your WIFI! but if your PC is connected via cable and someone dose hack your WIFI can they get accesses to your PC if it is using wire to connected to the modem?

if someone can get onto your network and your individual devices are not protected, then yes, they can get access to anything on the network.

Good video but health wise, WiFi IS harmful so I prefer hard wired where able. Too much WiFi everywhere is not at all good for us.

Stop using that rubbish black repeater, Use two AC1200 dual band or better TP link extenders and try again. Your results will differ.
