Agreed, but Probst probably viewed it as disrespectful and ruining the drama of council. As opposed to trying to make every one as dramatic as possible and to produce drama moving forward. The council as a peanut gallery would be funny, but would hurt the tension.

Ehh, she had a pretty good clue that she had lost, since she would've been the only returning winner of the season. Even if she (maybe justifiably) had thought queen Courtney had won, both of her China competitors were very confrontational at FTC, and I think she was just trying to win her way rather than emulate the competition.

@@louz9291 Everyone I've heard from Micronesia talk about it says that Amanda fully believed she won China, and after the final tribal of Micronesia that she fully believed she won that season, too. They say that's part of why they think she's sort of disappeared from the face of the earth, because of the embarrassment she felt at thinking she'd won back to back seasons, but actually losing them.

I'm already obsessed w Micronesia but when I listened to Parvati's ep on DYB, it just solidified the season into legendism. Amanda and Parv would frequently meet off camera to discuss what they wanted to do without production interference, and it worked flawlessly (Parv mentioned it was easier sneaking off to meet up bc if production went with them, then an entire camera crew would follow and it would be more obvious and noticeable to the other players). Parv said Amanda knew WAY more than she led on and likely lost at FTC because she didn't own up to any of it.

Also, something that Probst really hates is when players give him cop-out answers at tribal, which according to podcasts with Penner and RC, Artis kept doing, and it got Probst to the point of cursing. Tyson told a similar story from BvW, in which he himself gave a cop-out answer, and Probst was like “Tyson, one more answer like that, I will eviscerate you”, and yes, he did say eviscerate.

As one of my all-time faves, I think Amanda is absolutely underrated. However, it's undeniable that she got soundly defeated in China's FTC by Todd (and Courtney, even) and because her seasons were consecutive, she couldn't learn from her FTC mistakes to do a better job in Micronesia. If she had owned up to more of her gameplay instead of trying to coast on likability alone, might she have won? Debatable for sure, but she might have swayed a juror or two. HvV is a completely different story, considering the utter blah-ness of basically the entire Heroes tribe lol.

Amanda is a fave of mine too. Parvati set herself up so well that nothing Amanda could do would make her win. Amanda would have done better keeping Ozzy, especially if she wasn't going to take credit for it. He was on her side and could help get Parvati's people out. The longer they were with Parvati, the more they'd like and respect her.

Very interesting. Would love to know if Amanda could win if she owned up to her Ozzy blindsight. On one hand her votes all pretty much came from people that hated Parv for the blindside so it would be risky, but on the other there is no one else to vote for, so Ozzy/James/Erik most likely still give her their votes. I don't think the other Fans would switch regardless, but she might have convinced Eliza and Ciri. Would love to see that tribal play out.

I just rewatched the tribal council where Ozzy got blindsided. Amanda began to "react" to the "blindside" after Ozzy had only got 2 votes. Even though at that point Jayson only needed one more vote to be out. So, there's no question in my mind now that she had a part in it.

If you were to ask me who's my first choice for a fourth (very unlikely, but still) return? It's Amanda Cooper (formerly Kimmel). Like... their little moment off-camera literally became the reason why they were on opposing tribes on HvV. That is completely wild to me, and all this time... Dang. Seriously, Amanda, for me, was truly one of the most versatile, cunning, strategic women players of Survivor's Golden Era (15-20). God, I wish she was asked back. No idea what she's doing now, or if she's even still interested but... worth a shot just to see her play again, I feel like she deserves it after getting such a raw deal with the Heroes tribe, lol

I'd like Amanda to come back too. Because Parvati was willing to play the bad guy (she was smart enough to know that was the best move), she got credit for the blindside. Amanda isn't that great answering the jury's questions. I don't know if she'd be able to win against most winners. But I'd still like to see her try again.

Honestly rewatching Cagayan I have much more sympathy for Kass than Spencer, because she really was ostracized for doing gameplay moves that others would stand by in her shoes. She was definitely disliked but I really do think she could've made a good argument that she was overhated for making moves she needed to do to get to the end

He (and the other jury members) wanted to wear the Dragonz merch/t-shirts but production wouldn’t let them and Coach got pissed. The production had to go grab some last minute clothing from somewhere and the jury wore that

I'm actually not at all surprised by the Micronesia story. In spite of what was shown in the episode, a part of me couldn't help but feel that Amanda was somehow involved in Ozzy's elimination. Although the show likes to paint her as sweet and heroic, we all know she has a manipulative side, and the way the story is described by Parvati is very accurate to how Amanda plays the game. She has no problem with getting her hands dirty to further herself, but she also doesn't want to absorb any of the heat, so to save face, she had Parvati take the fall while she stayed clean. She did the same thing in the season prior by aligning with Todd, letting him make himself look more cunning and devious so she could preserve her image for the jury. The irony is that this is how she ended up losing both times, because she just can't own up to her involvement.

One thing that I find really cool is a story that Zeke from millennials vs gen x and game changers shared in an interview he gave after game changers that I read recently. In response to the question “what is something that wasn’t shown that will blow fans minds”, Zeke tells the story of how when he was on Millennials vs gen x, he made a fake idol to try and stop other people from looking for the real one. He says it was fun for a bit, but after it was no longer useful he kind f just threw it in a bush and forgot about it. Then, next season after the swap, Zekes entire tribe is searching for the idol even though Troyzan already had it, because no one knew. He says that after days of searching, they all here ozzy yelling about how he just found it, and he runs over and finds ozzy holding his fake idol from the previous season. The tribe was disappointed but they all thought it was pretty funny, and I do too. In the same section of the interview after finishing the story, Zeke throws in a little bit of praise for ozzy, saying that he was a genuinely good dude and was just as Ozzy-ish in person as on the show. At the tail end of this, he vaguely mentions that “ozzy has a knack for finding REAL food” and says that he “conjured up a can of orange soda and a bag of cookies”, but always shared them with the tribe. So this also begs the question: is ozzy yet another person to steal food from producers, but not be hated for it because he shared?

1:20 I mean.. Tony said that "weasel woo" line as he was building the spy shack, which was day 1 or 2. Jeffra didn't even meet Tony and woo until way later. I think that Tony originally started calling him that bc in the very beginning woo was not working with Tony, but he was somewhat working with cliff, who Tony did not care for. I think one or more of the others heard Tony say it (probably trish) and so they all started saying it lol this is just my assumptions I have no idea

The spy shack was day 4. Tony made a day one alliance with Cliff and Woo and was replaced by Lindsey. Woo would go wherever the numbers were so part of Tony calling him a weasel is that. Tony went up to Cliff/Woo and asked him what’s going on and why Cliff is hanging out with Lindsey all the time. They told him to stop being paranoid and that’s when Tony threw out his paper Strategy and came up with the spy shack which confirmed to him that he was out of the alliance and him and Trish were on the bottom by eavesdropping.

The problem with the well water on all of the Survivor seasons that you might not know about is that after a very very short while the water will start to taste like the container it's in because of the high heat of the jungle. All Survivor wells taste horribly nasty. No matter how much you boil it. It will always taste like the container it's in after just a very short time while being in the jungle. There has never been a season where at least one player complained about it after the show in interviews. 💧👎🤢

They probably didn't know what caused it exactly while filming. I don't think this is a cover up, I think they just don't have footage of Erik being told by a doctor, "this seems like a reaction to the penicillin." To be fair, the malnutrition probably did contribute to the reaction being that severe.

Showing a branded granola bar could've led to issue with regulations regarding sponsored content. So since the producers themselves planted it, it was either a local brand or just something made up by the art department

That's crazy about the granola bars.. I wish whichever of the girls had it in their bag would just fess up. They obviously didn't eat it since they all found it and burned it. So whoever found it in there COULD have cheated (especially at a time like that when you're currently starving), but they chose not to. I totally get not saying anything at the time.. who tf would ever believe that they "didn't put it there"? Lol but after the show was done, or at least now that's its been almost 20 years, I don't see why they don't just admit it 🤷‍♀️

It doesn't make sense to me how Cirie would just be along for the Ozzy vote. I mean we see confessionals from her all in on it i think even in the previous episode. I don't think she just voted Ozzy because the numbers were there. It's odd how Ozzy lets her completely off the hook because she seems like she has a role in it. I guess because he wasn't as close to her

Production cares way more about whether or not someone can make good TV instead of them following every rule to the letter. Woo is energetic and makes good TV, and the way he broke the rules is super easily edited out. So yea, they clearly didn't care about it that much.
