Hi Dave I would like to know briefly from you whether the AM8 microphone needs an external audio interface such as SC1 or SC3, is the difference worth paying for the audio interface or is just the USB connector enough? Or is it better to invest the same amount in purchasing a boom arm from Fifine Like fifine bm88 ? And about the USB cable, would you suggest buying another USB cable from UGREEN or Anker 3.0 instead of the one that comes with the microphone?

Hi! The short answer is that usb mode is more than sufficient for most people. But I do have a video coming out next week answering exactly this concern in detail! I test the AM8 in USB mode, with the SC1, with a mic booster, and with the Focusrite Vocaster interface. The video is already available for members if you’re in a hurry. As for the cable, I’ll have to confirm with Fifine if the cable has been updated. You might want to try getting the AM8 first and see if the included cable works. There’s a chance they made silent updates to the included cable.

You absolutely do not have to rerecord the sounds every time you boot up. It saves the sound clips and the light setting you put it on.

My audient evo 4 finally gave out - thinking of getting this as a replacement to use as an audio interface / mixer.

Not sure this would be the best replacement for it! The evo 4 will give you significantly more clean gain. But this does the job if you have noise repair software. They also have a cheaper audio interface (SC1) that has none of the bells and whistles of this one, but presumably has the same preamps based on the specs.

Connected via usb, which turns on the light. Cranked the gain of both the mic and headphones all the way down. Attached the mixer/interface via xlr, and chose that as my audio source. :) So the usb just powers the light.

As long as it’s an XLR mic, it’ll work with the Fifine. Seems like it’s a USB mic though, since you’ll need a hyper x procast

does this work with bluetooth headphones? I cannot get this mixer to work. I'm using the same mic as you and everything is lit up but my friends say I'm super quiet now and I can't adjust my volume using the mixer. Besides changing the color, none of the buttons change anything either. None of the voicemods work and idk what to do anymore.

Yes, it includes the type-c port for mobile devices, but if it's the iPhone with lightning port, then you will need adapters and are better from the Apple store.

Yes, plug and play on PS5 both the mic and the mixer through USB. But if you want to have the mic and the mixer work together on PS5, then you need to plug the mic into the mixer via XLR cables instead of plugging the mic directly into PS5 console with the USB cable, then connect the USB of the mixer to your PS5 USB port.

As a rule of thumb, we would recommend getting a mixer between $100 to $200 to get the best out of your AT2020, but if you only want to have a proper audio mixer with the XLR input and voice-changers built-in, then it will wok fine.

@@milkayway_ Not an upgrade, that’s a crossgrade! Two different mics. A8 is condenser and captures more detail. AM8 is dynamic and picks up background noise less.

respectfully as far as talking about the first wire and the rings on the jacks, how many people actually have a cellphone with a traditional audio jack? I mean i mightve mentioned that for most modern cellphones you will need an adapter dongle unless they have a much older phone or an imported phone that features a jack. What kind of speaker do you use? Assuming it's a pair of active speakers that doesn't need extra power from a pre-amp, then make sure you choose the correct input mode on the speakers.

It’s compatible, but not enough to drive it to be loud enough.

It works, but can't get the best out of the SM7B. For a proper XLR setup, it's better to look for interfaces or mixers that costs around the same or even more of the mic. Since you also have to consider analog output channels.

The SC3 has an internal storage but you can only record voices up to 15 Seconds and then when you reboot it, it saves until it breaks

It’s very likely preamp noise from two sources: noise from the mic preamp, and noise from the headphone preamp. I listen on clean headphone preamps and the mic noise isn’t horrible. The headphone amps being noisy may exaggerate it. But yes, some noise is perfectly normal at this price point.
