1950s rock n roll was the best rock n roll. It’s amazing how many obscure songs exist. I’m always finding new to me bangers.

Originators of "The Twist," influencing both rock and roll and dance culture. Ranked among the top for their boundary-pushing contributions.🥰🥰🥰

Interesting how most 50's bands just disappeared into the ether. It might have something to do with that era being too early before live recordings really gained popularity in the 1970s, and tech/internet age communications to keep their fanbase energized.

Drifters should be top 10. Hank Balard was great!

Yes the Drifters are one of my favorite R&B groups!! Hank Ballard & The Midnighters are more of a forgotten band.

I'm not sure that Bill Haley and his comets should be on a list of "forgotten" groups.
@lrfcarreviews25703 ай бұрын
I agree, they were big in the 50s. Rock Around The Clock is literally one of the songs that defines rock and roll. And Bill Haley’s Comets had a handful of hits.

Same thing with The Drifters, The Platters, and Little Richard’s band. They had a lot of classic songs.

The Drifters should have been in the top 10 not 48th! Gave us some great songs! I grew up in the '50's and never heard of the Robbins and ahead of the Drifters? I don't think so!!

Seems like a reasonable thing to consider much of the audiences of those days have passed on, no one lives forever. Still, many younger people of today, who are interested, know who these people were. Question is, who will people be listening to in a hundred years' time. Justin Biemer, Taylor Swift and that ilk? Seems a bit doubtful.

Several groups mis-named. Just one example is "The Chords" (not "The Cords"), another "The Clef Tones", not the Cleft tones.

This guy's voice is a bit too strident ! Is there maybe a wee bit of racism here? We get to hear a whole of his singing(and he wasn't that good) and Bill Haley. The Black guys we don't hear any songs(maybe a micro second or two) Anyway, just asking.
