Wow, thanks for the cheery reply! I'm a musician / writer and "sound healing" practitioner. Hoping to get back on the road (Did it for one year a few years ago, and knew that the travel was a key part of my "calling". The financial factors have been the biggest block from me doing so. I have unique talents that may come in handy. (like speaking Japanese fluently. Taught it at a community college. But writing is another matter, although I do OK. Otherwise, I'd try for translations. Maybe tutor Japanese-speaking people in English? Or English-speaking people in Japanese? [Something I've done for years anyway. Just a matter of getting used to the Skype dynamic..] ) That's why I so appreciated the tips!) Thanks so much for asking!
@StevenDLightspring7 жыл бұрын
Actually, what I'm most hoping to do is sell downloads (of my albums, songs, sound therapy audios & books, etc.) I'm presently planning on just selling the books on "Blurb" and link there from my site, so that may be solved. But so far they are just poetry books, and poetry is usually a very slow seller. [Until they hear me perform them, then they sometimes sell OK. = smile = ] on my website(s), (because I feel it would keep my schedule more flexible than the tutoring) but I keep hitting snags on how to set that up. It shouldn't be so hard. Between that and some affiliate programs, I hope to create a "safety net" income at least. More than you needed to know... = grin = ...but I thought I'd mention more specifics, just in case you may have an idea (or a direction to point me) that may help me get past the some of the frustration of setting these things us up (often very "snaggy" for us not-so-techy types = grin= ) Most of all...thanks so much for what you do...Looking forward to following your videos!

this is awesome. what would you recommend to someone who doesn't have any knowledge nor many skills about those fields but wanna give it a try? which ones could be the fastest to get into?
@digitalnomadgirl7 жыл бұрын
I'd think a bit about whether you have any skills whatsoever.... writing, admin, excel, languages as it's best to start with what you know. Or, failing that, what you're interested in! I think affiliate marketing can be a good place to start, or dropshipping if you can put in a few weeks/months of time. But freelancing is the quickest way to get a bit of income keeping you afloat while you go after some longer game plans!
@dmanakell7 жыл бұрын
Skills? not many. I'm a kinda good at drawing although nothing too fancy. I like the idea of dropshipping a lot though.
@digitalnomadgirl7 жыл бұрын
Awesome! The good thing about dropshipping is there is a ton of info online already :) It does take a few intensive month to get set up and have money coming in, but as long as that's ok with you it can be a great place to start.

Thank you so much for this video. I have been subscribing your channel for a while. This is helpful although actually doing it is still some what kind of challenging. I would really like to travel sooner. But I don't have that much saving. Is there is any beginner way that I can gradually getting to work professionally on the road while travel with tourist visa without having that much budget?
@digitalnomadgirl7 жыл бұрын
Hi Cih! Yeah for sure. The savings helped me a lot because even though I didn't end up using them I felt secure :) I'd suggest trying to pick up some freelance clients from Upwork and facebook groups etc while you're still at home, and then you'll know how much income you have for travelling. What have you got in mind to do for work? ps. thanks so much for subscribing!!
@cih-hanlin7 жыл бұрын
Thank you for the advice. I have been looking for online jobs and trying to get approved by Upwork. But seems Upwork has very strict selection. I tried Freelance.com but I had bad experience from there. I'm an assistant of a bilingual PR and marketing now so I might try to be a Chinese VA and also find something that would fit me. I know it would have been better if I saved up some money in advance. But at this time of my life I can't really save that much. I really want to explore more of this world. So I think maybe I would just go no matter what. I am planning to stay in London for couple months by workaway. Hopefully it works but I am a little bit anxious about not having enough budget.
@digitalnomadgirl7 жыл бұрын
Yeah Workaway or WOOFing are both good options too :) Or check online for companies that are hiring remote jobs. I think remote.io is a marketplace for that? Could be useful!

I'm looking to doing travel writing with historical and educational destinations in mind. The dirt under our feet always has a story to tell. I've traveled around digging up hidden and forgotten history and I'm looking to expand my range. I've traveled for business for a month or two at a time but never really had to worry about how to get set up a bank account, get access to cash, manage money, paying taxes while on the road. I haven't found much on the topic. New to your channel, found it very well done.

Hi Jan! So glad you enjoyed it :) Well, this isn't even remotely my area of expertise so I might be totally wrong! But I know people who do personal training, confidence coaching, life coaching, couples therapy, etc all over Skype... so I'm thinking the same could be true of anything that involved talking to a patient. Skype doesn't work for everyone as it can feel a bit disconnected but I think if you get the right match it could work :)

Great ideas 😃 Thanks for sharing. How did you get your jobs? I'm currently building my own business and looking for ways to create several streams of income. There are so many wonderful options 😊 but I don't know where to look for the jobs. A lot of people talk about all the great options but nobody really tells how they found them, and I'm a bit lost, it's a jungle 😂, so it could be interesting to know how you found your jobs. Sorry if you already made a video about this. I'm a new subscriber. Great videos btw! Have seen 3 just now 😀 I hope to become a digital nomad at some point of my life. What if I'm a graphic designer but tired of dealing with clients? The amount of sh*t of the last 8 years since I'm a freelancer made me sick of clients. I don't know what to do now. ( I do sell graphic templates, I get $50-100 a month, not a huge amount... )

That's tough! I'd say maybe try and narrow down to the clients you do like and ask them for referrals or focus on working with fewer clients but at a higher rate? Or of course expanding your passive income could be a great option too :)

I make some money from teaching portrait classes but haven't really worked out how to use Upwork to get clients and ready detest having to send out email campaigns and then call clients endlessly and talk to people who just don't really care! Gatekeepers are a nightmare and they sap my soul! Really like your videos by the way, have subscribed!

Hi Sam. Really glad you enjoyed them - thanks so much for the support :) It sounds to me like you may not be suited to client work.... if they're already driving you crazy! Maybe something less interactive like writing a book or e-courses so that the income is a bit more "passive"?
@StudioSamSmith7 жыл бұрын
Digital Nomad Girl thank you so much for taking the time to reply - that is really kind of you:) I think you're right about the client stuff, I really don't like the back and forth of it, it irritates me! I really appreciate the advice, since being in Chiangmai it has made me really realise that passive income is the way to go. I was writing a book about portraits last year but it tapered off (now I'm writing my own comic book which is close to finishing) so I'll get back on with the portrait book right afterwards! I am also looking into UDEMY following one of your videos so thank you for that as well:)

About dropshipping, some company built me a website, created the links to amazon for shipment. No sales ever, the company put up some ads, a blog post, still no sales. $15,000 USD invested and no sales.. Scammers are everywhere, now my credit rating is trashed
@digitalnomadgirl6 жыл бұрын
Hi, I'm so sorry to hear that. I absolutely agree - every industry has scams in and dropshipping is the same. For sure be careful where you invest your money, which courses you take, and remember that starting any business is risky. I hope you manage to get your sales sorted or learn some valuable lessons. Good luck!
@heavymechanic26 жыл бұрын
The "Coaching" was a big scam, nothing but a lie. I was doing fine selling from ebay and my own website before this company in Utah (USA) hustled me into believing there was potential to make money with their program. Four years later, credit card companies are still causing me financial harm and the company has changed their name and started a new business identity due to fraud under a ponzi scheme.. Financial distress caused me to close my small business after ten years because no one would process my payments online (a Merchant Account was closed by the bank).
@digitalnomadgirl6 жыл бұрын
It's so sad how often coaching is a scam. It really brings down the whole industry and it's terrible to pray on passionate small business people. Hope you manage to find your feet again!

House sitter : is it like just keep the house for someone who is in travel or holiday? proof reading seems great.
@digitalnomadgirl7 жыл бұрын
Hi! Sorry that I didn't see this comment at the time! I think it depends a lot... normally the person is travelling or on holiday but sometimes they have two homes or are moving house or on a work trip. Can be a weekend or several months! It really depends which ones you choose to apply for :) I'd be a terrible proofreader! But if you have good attention to details it's a nice easy way to get started without qualifications :)

You can, as long as it's your own code you're reusing. Taking someone else's code and passing it off as your own can get you sued.

Something I've noticed. It's almost impossible to find any remote jobs where you are just doing data entry. Most data entry jobs require your physical presence, despite not having any job functions that would require you to actually be physically present in order to perform them. Why is this? It's not that I would mind doing something more than data entry, but it would be the easiest remote job for me to land at this time.

I have a product (deluxe handmade soap) for which I'd love a nomad drop-shipper. I just wanna hang out on my middle-of-nowhere-homestead and make (and ship) soap -- I'm tech-resistant and would LOVE someone else to do the website/marketing/selling/whatevs else for me. I'm not online much, so am not super keen on courtesy protocol - feel free to delete my comment if it violates an ethics/manners code... but I really would love to pay a nomad (some nomads) a passive income if they can/will generate sales!
@digitalnomadgirl7 жыл бұрын
Definitely you could find someone to pair up with! There are lots of people who want to do dropshipping but don't know what to sell. I'd post in some nomad groups (with photos and more information) and see who's interested! The main drawback will be markup (people prefer to sell something more expensive so the margins are better on each sale) but sure you could still find someone :) Let me know how it goes!!
@daRenegadeMama7 жыл бұрын
Sweet - -thank you! I got the idea when you said "a product - say flip flops" ... the margins aren't giant per product ($1 per bar sold) but it is an in-demand, consumable product so, maybe it'd be awesome. Thanks for the tip -- I'll see what (who) I can find! :D

If you have a strong heart being a trader ( Currency ) is one of the best online job that one can have. There's not much of a competion for this job as long as you have good track record. Investment banks are willing to give you a decent commissions and free travel anywhere you want. You don't even need a college degree for this job though it takes time for anyone to develop a good trading strategy.
