As for the format, the videos where I show myself are much more work (and time) for me to produce, and since I want to make A LOT of these new videos with phrases and conversations, in order to cover many different situations, I'll have to stick with this to make it doable. But I'll keep showing myself for other videos, eg. grammar and pronunciation.

It's funny, I think I should try to respond in Italian. Yet I always freeze up and don't. I have this fear of being wrong I guess. I'm sure I am not alone. Anyway. I enjoyed this. As others have said I do like seeing you. I liked how you explained things, especially in the first half of this. There was several things that I wonder about in the second half. If I wasn't tired I would ask about them. Perhaps I will the next time I watch this. OH, I was told that if I ordered a caffè in Italy it would automatically be an espresso. Is that true? Personally I like the coffee I make with my Moka pot. 😀

That depends on the different usage of avere/to have in Italian and English. They are *mostly* used the same way, but NOT always. One of the differences is when talking about food/drinks, specifically *consuming* them. Let me show you an example. In English, is very common to say: "I'll have a pizza for dinner". You are using "to have" but you mean you are going to "eat" a pizza. So in this instance in Italian you can't use "avere", because avere just means "to have got", can't be used when the real meaning is "eating/drinking". In those cases you need to be more specific, using "mangiare" or "bere". THIS IS THE ONE CASE I meant when saying "you can't use "avere" for food and drinks". So, "I'll have a pizza for dinner" > Mangerò una pizza per cena, OR "I'll have a glass of wine tonight" > Berrò un bicchiere di vino stasera. This is NOT the case when you ask someone to get you something, like when you say "May I have a coffee?". In this case you are asking TO GET that thing (then most probably you are going to consume it too, but in this sentence the focus is: can you GIVE IT to me?). So in this instance it is CORRECT to use "avere" also in Italian. So: "Posso avere un caffè?" Hope this clarifies it!

You used avere in the explanation for "can I have" when ordering but yet in your explanation for caffe macchiato you advise "avere" (to have) is not used for ordering and only prendere (to take). In both cases, although expressed differently, the customer is ordering. Can you help me understand this?

Not exactly. "Caffè doppio" is two shots of espresso served in the same cup, and it's not very common in Italy. "Caffè lungo" is the same shot of espresso, but you let the machine run for longer (hence "lungo") so the amount of liquid that comes out is more, but the amount of coffee in the filter is the same.
