A major issue with this video is the fact that you lump both Venom Snake and Big Boss into one and have facts that would be reserved for Venom Snake in with Big Boss, when it's very clearly shown at the very end of Phantom Pain that Venom is a body double created by Big Boss, the medic from Ground Zeroes who was psychologically conditioned to believe he is Big Boss, created to take the fall for him, as well as create the legend of Big Boss, and serves as Big Boss' very own phantom. It was Venom that was in the coma and lost an arm, not Big Boss.

To be exact big boss can infact smell however that codec where the boss mentions that big boss can't smell isn't canon and is only just an in game joke by kojima on the fact that video games don't have a smell mechanic (ie not being able to smell the game's ingame environment) however canonically both big boss and venom snake can smell since they both know the smell of a cigar

They do share a title but Volgin quit fighting when he realized the real Big Boss has blue eyes. The phantom has green eyes, and is not the same person in fact. I guess that leaves it up to us to distinguish the canon from the legend. Knowing that the medic has his own unique injuries and hallucinations that John never sustained incline me to honor their individual experiences as different characters. On the other hand Raiden went through VR to be just like Solid Snake (they shared the title for about 5 mins 😅) but we have no problem with the narrative going above and beyond to distinguish them. We know Raiden is the third Cyborg Ninja since MG2SS (Black Ninja, Kyle Schneider), but when we say "The Cyborg Ninja" I always know that we're talking about Frank Jaeger and not the meme in Jack the Ripper. That's how I see it anyway.

People are saying that it isnt big boss in MGSV but kojima made it at the end of the game say "i am big boss and so are you" which is saying that our character the one we create at the start is also big boss venom is him too he is a big reason for the legend that is big boss and is saying that us as the player is big boss since its our character we customized at the start that is venom snake aka big boss. Great video. Gotta point out some things though. The thumbnail you used in the Solid Snake video is the Smash version, which uses a Naked Snake face on a redone MGS2 Solid Snake outfit. And the Big Boss face camo is based on the Solidus corpse. The missing left eye tells them apart both times. In The Phantom Pain, Venom does have lines commenting on how things smell, which gives it away that he isn't Big Boss.

11:32 kojima explained that when “big boss” was killed by solid in “metal gear 2: solid snake” that was in fact his clone that we played as in “MGS 5 the phantom pain” as the real big boss went into hiding due to world wide death threats, I understood that when big boss and solid snake met at the end of “MGS 4 guns of the patriots” it was for the first and last time which was why solid seemed stunned as he believed (along with liquid and solidus) he killed him years ago… so where does Naomi come in to restore big bosses body as there was no mention of the real big boss in a critical burned state?

Actually, the Big Boss killed in MG2 is Naked, the original Big Boss. Venom, the player character of MGSVTPP, is killed in the first Metal Gear game. The easiest way to verify this is that the tape you can see at the end of TPP is labeled "Intrude N313", which is the same operation Snake undergoes during MG1. The "real" Big Boss's body was, in fact, burned, whereas Venom was probably taken out by missiles (as that's the most common way to kill him in MG1)

Where I’m from, Jack is a nickname for John. Not really sure why but that’s just how it is. Just looked it up to make sure I wasn’t crazy and here’s the first thing I found. The name Jack is a derivative of John, which originated in medieval England. The name went from John to Johnkin to Jankin to Jackin to, you guessed it, Jack. There is also a theory that Jack is Celtic in origin, meaning "healthy, strong, and full of vital energy."

Venom and Big boss are one entity. Venom was the reason the Big boss moniker was so famous after the eighties. When talking about one you are actually talking about two. In japan during feudal times there was a muskateer named "Magoichi Saika" who was rumored to actually be three different men or a group of men but was likely just a name each man used to have every exploit go to this "one" man and conserve anonymity for themselves. The authorities would be looking for a different face every time they hear stories of the man. A man who is almost omnipresent, was seen everywhere and fought in many battles. A man of many exploits and a "legendary" warrior. "Magoichi" was the leader of a group of MERCENARIES much like boss in the MGS series. Hideo likely got the idea of a renegade band of mercenaries fighting the powers that be from the mercenary group from japanese history.
