Grabbed the 130ft in-wall version of the cable, it works great for 4k 120hz! I have it ran from my PC upstairs in the office to my Samsung the Terrace outdoors. The only issue I ran into was powering the hdmi adapter. It wouldn’t work in any of the usb slots on my motherboard. Swapped it to the display side and it works great with tv usb port. Thank you so much for making this video! I was researching 4k120 over long distance and prior to last week the only thing I had found were $400 solutions from a company named fibercommand. This cable does it for $90. I’m very impressed. Thanks for saving me some $$$

I've been using a Cable Matters brand fiber optic HDMI cable for a few years now to resolve an issue where my HTPC was having video dropouts due to a poor design where the power input was placed too close to the HDMI port (AsRock A300W.) I was getting dropouts with as little as a 7 foot HDMI cord rated for 8K. Switched to a 16 foot fiber cable and have zero issues now. They're not cheap at approx. ~$35 each, but worth every penny when they solve a problem like that.

Thank you @Lon. I'm really enjoying FreshRSS. I spent about two hours setting it up exporting my subscriptions on KZbin(csv when you export it) and getting everything into the categories I wanted. All worth it! FreshRSS seems better then Feedly was and I didn't even know I could use RSS with KZbin. Can''t get Twitter working. Looks like the nitter RSS feeds stopped working. 😢 Love to know if you have an alternative. EDIT: I found a nitter mirror that works.

Two options on Twitter that I'm using: OpenRSS and also have my own docker container called RSSHub that can scrape a number of sites and make feeds for sites that don't have it. Really cool utility.

This video is a blessing. I've been looking for a long HDMI cable to connect my gaming PC to my TV. I can't decide between iBirdie, Amazon Basics, Blue Rigger. 🤔

This is the first fiber cable I've seen that has the extra power adapter instead of being self-powered. Is this because of the specs it offers or some other reason? The HDMI Fiber cable I use does not require any additional power input and none was provided in the box.

Could you try to get the 328' cable as well? I'd love to see how it compares to the 50' one on terms of lag.

Does audio signal travels both ways through fibre hdmi??I want to connect my tv box to the hdmi in of the dolby atmos soundbar and the hdmi out(earc) to the arc port of the projector...but i want to know that if i connect ps5 or pc to projector , will i get the dolby atmos sound from my soundbar if i connect my soundbar and projector with fibre hdmi???does the source and target thing applies to only video signals or with audio signals too??

I’ve been using these and the dvi optic cables for almost two years now. Allows me to set up a rack in my basement and have the screens in the office. No more excessive heat or sound. I have not noticed any increased input lag either.

@@michaelmoran3429 I have a 50’ usb cable into a powered usb hub. Keyboard and mouse attach there. I also use t ports for charging headphones and connecting a controller. The lag is imperceptible to me. I’m not a competitive gamer so this setup works.

One issue I have with other fiber HDMI cables is if I use a switch they don't work. I have a gpu with one HDMI 2.1 port. I want to connect it to my desktop monitor and my TV in the other room. I don't like having to climb under the desk and swap out the cables so I have tried a bunch of HDMI switches but they must mess with the fiber optic signal. Does this cable work with an HDMI switch? I've tried probably 10+ switches with my current cable.

The only downside for me is that i have no way of operating the satellite box in the other room. The boxed extenders do have rf extenders. How would you solve this while using the optical cable?

I've been looking at many videos regarding this situation and what you shown seems to be the most simple and straight forward solution I've seen so far. Situation: We've been apartment living for the last 20 years and had my latest tower is set up at a desk pretty much in the same room as the TV. There was a short HDMI for the display and a 10' HDMI for the TV. The system has a Intel Core i7 4790K 4.0GHz and at one point or another I had run either an Asus GeForce GTX 980 or a 1080 with no issues. Recently we acquired the family home and for now the tower and it's display is set up in the dining room and the TV's location (not connected yet) I measured out the cable length needed to be 40' so not to be in traffic. Is the solution as simple as you are describing? I hear a lot about CAT6 A and other other items necessary to make the distance. Your thoughts, please?

I would really like a HDMI to ethernet adapter that is no lag. At home I ran in wall two 50ft HDMI cables and two CAT6 ethernet cables to my living room TV. Eventually the HDMI cables will be outdated but ethernet will of course live on. While there are HDMI to ethernet video adapters, none are fully no lag, lossless, and HDCP compliant, yet. At least that I am aware of. If anyone has product suggestions please list.

Yeah I found those RJ45 adapters to be incredibly laggy. Haven't found one that isn't either - likely due to the data transfer that takes place on them.

I have been asked several times by a bunch of people on the difference between NTSC and NTSC-J… I usually say it's about the frequency but they keep asking! I remember there was a website that had the frequencies in a table, but IIRC I don't think it's still up! 🤔🤔🤔🤔 Or did you do a video about that?

Great video. But i dont understand 2 things. Why does it need the usb port for power? Hdmi itself has a power from the input itself. And how can Arc work with that cable because the signal is only 1 direction(?)
@LonSeidman
@LonSeidman 8 ай бұрын
HDMI power can be unreliable depending on the TV and the device plugging into it. I think the ARC commands work over a regular copper wire running the length of the cable. Much lower bandwidth required so loss over that distance isn't as big of a deal.
