Well, b/c they are not showing the ugly side? Why do you think there is no crime? B/c they would cut your arms off publicly & drive you around the town. And apparently history of Somala starts in 1884. Romans were there & probably Ottomans & Arabs. They weren't nice/friendly guys And the tribal wars.... Slavery was officially ended in 1930th: "The Italian colonial administration abolished slavery in Somalia at the turn of the 20th century. However, some Somali clans notably the Biimal clan opposed this idea. The Bimaals fought Italians to keep their slaves. Although the Italians freed some Bantus, some Bantu groups, remained enslaved well until the 1930s, and continued to be despised and discriminated against by large parts of Somali society."

Their existence, success, and independence is seen by some as a threat to the status quo and to order. Of course that is incredibly unfair to the people of Somaliland, and ultimately I think this is an evil way of thinking. I think growing up in such a beautiful country has helped to give her that personality. I have wished I was born in Africa all my life because I think it is a very beautiful and homey land. Such beautiful people in every country. Before the Internet the US and European propaganda machine had us thinking everyone was a soldier or a robber, I never believed a country that gave credit for discovery of America to a poor revolutionary from Italy with no ship of his own to a place that was named America because when the black African man with his own ship went to a map maker after coming here and since they didn't know that name of the country they put his name on the map Americus Vespucia. Hence America wasn't taught I have not believed one thing I learned here. I knew about Americus since Jr high library. Hateful place to grow up. I envy her and her beautiful personality
