oh by the way, a tip for walk(I'm no way better than you but here's something I found). Walk is in standard d with an extra quarter step down, and it gives the riff a bit more edge to it with both power chords and the barred g and c strings giving it a bit more of a brighter yet harsher sound.

As someone who works at the Gibson factory, I can confidently tell you that the SG you used to play paranoid is not a standard SG. You can immediately tell by the inlays on the PHF, fingerboard, and by the half pick guard. Standard SG’s have a full pick guard, and they don’t have gold hardware either.

I thought I was unlucky having 5 guitar centers and a Sam Ash about an hour away from me each all in the Atlanta area, but then I looked to see how many were in the surrounding states and realized we have 8 here and Alabama has 3 in the whole state and they are nowhere near each other. If you live in South Georgia your closest option is Florida and it's still forever away.

That Tele for Castles Made of Sand sounded great. In a lot of cases you used guitars very similar, or identical to, the original ones used for the songs. I'd be interested to know how you chose them. Did you have in mind particular riffs in advance, or did you just wait to feel what the guitar brought out of you?

He learns riffs by ear, he doesn't necessarily look at tabs or watch a live version per say, and many of these he may have learned years ago.
