I know the examiners are human and I'm aware of the workload they have to endure after exam season while marking our papers. But this is simply unacceptable, they get paid for their job and they're clumsy marking could LITERALLY destroy a teenager's chances of shaping up the life and future they've always wanted for themselves.

Interestingly, and also kinda worryingly, the guy that proposed the new 9-1 system has said that he thinks it was a mistake and that the system needs serious reworking. Don’t want to worry anyone, but I think that means the grades aren’t accurate to our ability.

Thank you this is really helpful! I was predicted two A's out of my 3 sciences but got 3 B's instead. I still got onto all of my college courses so I don't think it's worth a remark considering how much it costs. I was 12 marks off an A in chemistry so it is quite unlikely that it will go up so I think I will keep the B as there is a huge risk of dropping and I will be gutted if it goes down to a C or lower.

I am a lawyer in Delhi and have been practicing law since 3 years. I gave IELTS through British Council on 14.02.2019 and got the score on 27.02.2019. I got L-8.5 ,R - 8.5, S - 7, W- 6. I was predicted an 8 in english literature (GCSE) and in class and in mocks was always getting 8 or 9's. I came out with a 6... I thought the exam went really well, didn't mind the questions so to see that garde I was devestated. Yeah, I was one mark off a 7. But still I wouldn't have been that happy with a 7 (although I obviously would be happier). People are saying 45% of english exams got marked wrong. Let's hope my remark boosts my grade up...

Hi Dionisio its a tough decision, do you need a higher grade to get on to A-Levels or a college course, if yes then you might want a remark. If you don't need to get higher grades then try and be happy with the ones you have. When remarking grades can go down as well as up and you have to accept the new grade, remarks are also expensive. Essay subjects like English are more likely to change. Edexcel is offering access to your papers for free, so a teacher can look at them and decide if you got a fair mark.
