@@CoolVictor2002 Technically not necessary. If you consult a dietitian or know how to get all the essential nutrients from other sources. Problem is, it becomes much harder. A LOT of vegetarians/vegans THINK they know how to do that and then it becomes a problem... But it is essentially also the reason why people always claim that a vegetarian/vegan diet is healthier. It's not, fries are 100% vegetarian, live off of them and you will die a painful death in a month or so. The point is that vegetarians/vegans have to actually think about what they eat, and THAT is healthy! You know... actually thinking about things? Possibly the healthiest thing you can ever do...

My brother refused to eat any meat and fish and some other animal products since he was around 2-3 years old. Not forced onto by anyone, my entire family eats animal products, and no bad experience or grossing out, he just started to not like those kind of foods (and being a picky child in general.)

You would generally prepare the patty ahead of time and temporarily put them into the freezer/fridge while you clean up the rest of the kitchen, then take it out when you prepare to cook. The patty still cooks properly even if it's colder, but the time will vary a little bit.
