@@CoolVictor2002 Technically not necessary. If you consult a dietitian or know how to get all the essential nutrients from other sources. Problem is, it becomes much harder. A LOT of vegetarians/vegans THINK they know how to do that and then it becomes a problem... But it is essentially also the reason why people always claim that a vegetarian/vegan diet is healthier. It's not, fries are 100% vegetarian, live off of them and you will die a painful death in a month or so. The point is that vegetarians/vegans have to actually think about what they eat, and THAT is healthy! You know... actually thinking about things? Possibly the healthiest thing you can ever do...

My brother refused to eat any meat and fish and some other animal products since he was around 2-3 years old. Not forced onto by anyone, my entire family eats animal products, and no bad experience or grossing out, he just started to not like those kind of foods (and being a picky child in general.)

Freshly cut beef in form of steaks and such are 'generally' safe because the center isn't contaminated (wasn't cut into before cooking) and you cook the outside through to some layers. Ground beef is often mixed with other beef parts and hence can be contaminated through and through.
