The blinking orange light is a well known issue for the PS Vita 1000 models. It is also called the "Orange Light of Death", but it just means that the battery has discharged so low that the PS Vita can't charge it anymore. Sometimes plugging it in and leaving it for some hours might work and it starts charging, but sometimes it does not charge. Here is a way that can kick start the battery charging again: Plug your PS Vita in the charger and try to enter safe mode - HOLD R button + PS Button + Power button at the same time for 10-20 seconds. The screen should turn on and show that the battery is empty and now just leave it to charge and it should work.
@GUCFan Жыл бұрын
This also happens on the 2000 model as well. At least on the 2000 model any charger will work, the 1000 however you NEED the original power supply or else it won't charge.
@RetroVaultOz Жыл бұрын
@@GUCFan, you don't NEED the original 1000 charger for it to charge, but the console in bloody picky when it comes to chargers it will work with! I have always had good luck with the Samsung fast charge USB adapters, but agree - original is best!

These Vitas are real beasts. Bought a used one years ago, which has been sat dormant for over 4 years according to the internal logs. Worked like a charm after powering it up. Battery took a hit from deep charge, but still enough for a 2-3 hours of gameplay.

Hi Steve love your vids and LOVE the Vita, so I especially was enjoying this one! FYI, that card you showed the install for on the 1000 model wasn't the WiFi card, it was the 3G modem. It can be replaced in a modded Vita with a PSVSD MicroSD card adapter while still leaving the WiFi working.

I had a problem where my vita looked like it was charged but refused to turn on. As someone who isn't super handy at fixing things I decided my last chance was to just open it up and disconnect and reconnect the battery. It actually worked. The downside was unplugging the battery and plugging it back in fried my vita memory card. Apparently it has happened to many people online. So when you replace a Vita battery I would recommend taking out the Memory card first because those things are expensive and getting harder to find since they are proprietary.

Maybe the battery may show voltage but when a load applied it quickly drops, guess you’d have to test the battery under a load to see how the health of the battery really is. Good stuff! Love watching you fix random things!

12:00 I saw it immediately that trace was connected to the Resistor, no it is not a capacitor. Btw the battery is always marked NOMINAL voltage, which means a fully charged battery of this kind should have about 4,1volts. at 3,6 it is depleted for a Vita, probably to the point a PS Vita won´t even turn on or charge, A PSP for example won´t turn on below 3,7 volts in the battery so don´t mix up how the voltages works for determining if a battery is charged or not. Nominal and high/low voltages in a battery is not the same

Some of your opinions I can agree with but when you touched on big Adventure Bikes you triggered something in me. Let me be clear, I'm not a middle aged man (yet) but still these bikes are popular for a reason. The looks, power and their endless potential are what got me hooked and I can only imagine this is why other people like them too. Comparing a GS1200 to a Gold Wing is like comparing apples to oranges. Totally different bikes which can both ride comfortable 2-up with panniers. That's about the only similarity they have in my opinion. I like your content and this is my way of giving back. Keep the amazing videos coming

Got a PS Vita 2000 presenting the same issues but absolutely clean as a whistle on the board, no signs of any water damage/corrosion. Battery left on charge, getting solid orange light. Battery before charge was 3.69V and after long charge was 4.05V, so should power on. Power button working and sending signal past those traces that were broken on yours. Waiting on microscope and hot air station to arrive before I can investigate more closely and attempt reflow of chips if nothing else obvious. Possible that the battery could be overcharging so maybe power management IC? Replacement motherboard not an option so want to save it. Worst case, I will look for a broken system with a good board to transplant. First time working on more modern boards and have decided I’d rather just keep working on older systems

3.7 volts in nominal voltage. You want the battery to be higher voltage than the nominal. Anything below 3.7 means it's bad and needs to be replaced. Same with car batteries, 12 volts doesn't mean it's good. A good car battery I believe is about 12.5 volts with no load, and with the car on it jumps above 13V. 12.3 volts or lower means it's getting tired and if it drops below 12 it needs replaced

Vita is life in Spanish and it was life, but Sony fudge it up bad losing support to push the ps4. Till this day it has a wonderful OS and the games and graphics where ahead of it's time. This handheld has 3g and the switch doesn't, it has Bluetooth wireless headphones support, background downloads, gps, email, calendar, ps4 remote play, ps1,psp support and well you get the deal. Oh, almost forgot the memory cards sucs they where very expensive.

A while ago I bought three broken Vitas from eBay. Two were in demo mode. I was able to get one unit permanently out of demo mode and that's now my homebrew unit. Selling units in demo mode is scammy behavior, but if you're careful and don't upgrade the unit you can usually get rid of it. Not for the faint of heart. I have one motherboard that was stuck in demo mode but maybe with more recent tools I can fix that one, too.

You can easily get them out of demo mode with Henkaku (custom firmware), and it's permanent even if you remove CFW or factory reset.

Well, with the race trick, I’d only think it would do to get the moisture around from the outside and the port it might prevent the port from corroding. You might get Rice stuck in there but you can remove that rice. it’s better trap than corrosion then to get Rice. Also, I could help the speakers dry out on the external and the lamination on the display there is depending on the device. But I could be wrong
