Hmmm, maybe the older children are in college or grad school. Maybe they are living at home and devoting much of their earnings at a post college job to pay off their debt or save up for a first house. The couple also said they were looking to downsize. If they found a new house with a basement flat for their oldest child, they would have that available as the younger children needed a flat and they’d have it for rental income when they retired. People like this don’t sell a house they love without thinking it through.

I would have removed the china cabinet and sofa with matching chair from the dining room, put a large piece of art where the cabinet was and a crystal chandelier above the table to stage it to sell.

The same thing happens in Texas. I agree it is important to preserve open space and trees, Texas is big enough to have both.😮
