I am Greek and I have been to Santorini 4 times. In my opinion, if you are to go to Santorini, you should definitely book a room with a view to the sea that's what is special about this island: unique view and the most beautiful sunset in the world. And as you have noticed yourself, the narrow streets are so crowded and the best spots to watch the sunset are occupied by numberless of tourists. So you would want a private spot to enjoy the view peacefully. It is indeed, very romantic, many people from all around the world go there to get married. Note that the island is actually a volcano, that's why there is black volcanic sand on the beaches. Best time to visit, to avoid too much crowd is May, and after the mid September. Don't forget to visit the crater, you go there by boat. Excellent review, as always Chris.

I love Greece and visit almost all island and let me tell you Thasoss Scopelos Corfu Skiathos much beutifull island than that rock Santorini yes is beutifull but after 3 days i get bored i love where is lush green but also rock beaches but Santorini is a rock nothing exciting.

Now, regarding Santorini's rocky beaches, that's what it makes it unique, coz its volcanic. Some like it, some don't, but it's different. You know which Aegean island is extraordinary? Milos island. It has a variety of beaches, so many of them and of every kind, like rocky, sandy, small creeks, endless beaches... you name it, and my God, it's so beautiful. Since you come here often, check it, you will love it! 😘🥰

I love greece, my fiancé is English but grew up in greece. so majority of our holidays are in greece. you should try Skiathos. And take a boat trip out to where the famous church in Mamma Mia was filmed. 👍

Mind you, these prices are on the dead months of April and October, the start and finish of the summer season of the island. The rest of the months, prices are up higher two to three times at a minimum depending on the location, space and services provided. Still worth visiting at least once. Great video mate.

I just spent two nights in Santorini at the end of April. I had a very nice 50 euro a night place near the Fira bus station. It was perfect for just me and I was able to get a look at the view on walks and while dining. A caldera room would have been nice but was simply not in my budget.

Beautiful place and views, just wow! The price is astronomical though, not many can afford that! I think staying one night at least is worth it for the views if you can afford it. Become best friends with the owner and you will not regret it 😂. I would definitely pay for the caldera view than the local one. I would work smarter to pay for it.
