Now for something completly different, a look back at my 50 years of driving, lots of different cars, plenty of crashes and a enourmous amount of fun.
Its got me into a lot of trouble and cost me a lot of money, but I have had a fantastic time, so sit back and enjoy
All presented from the pub shed, loads of old photographs, and plenty of beer to drink as well.

Dear Patrick, this was so enjoyable. Your years of driving, your vehicles, etc... so interesting. YOU, have the knack of relating a story, and grabbing and holding our interest. ***I think it's because you're so honest, and really love what you do... from your fan, across the 🌊s 👏🌈👏

Great stuff Pat, was fab hearing your enthusiasm bout your cars & memories made in them. 2 ltr Capri S in silver very nice, eventually bought a 2.6 SD1 in red, a lovely car but then was superceded by a Honda VF 750sc & had some fab trips away on it with my brother on his Kawasaki 600.. Cars & bikes can make for some brilliant memories as have yours Pat 🤛

I'm 59 years old in May. I've had my fair share of smashes, crashes and near misses. I owned a 1970 Alfa Romeo GTV and a Lancia Montecarlo among others plus I had a Honda Hornet bike. I only do about 15 miles a day now and it's all town driving so I bought myself a little Peugeot 107. I was expecting slow and miserable driving but it's been a revelation because it's great fun to drive and as cheap as a car gets to own and run. It's fast enough, it keeps up with the traffic but you're never going to beat big powerful cars so you just enjoy your own driving in your own little world. I just let the big boys get past in their turbo charged monsters and I'm left alone to enjoy my driving. Great pub shed by the way. I fancy building my own when I retire. Cheers!

Patrick I totally agree you have had some classic Ford's Like the Orion Ghia but for me the Ford Capri will always be a classic I had 2 in my driving career and I would have always loved a 2.8 injection or a 280 Brooklands as they were the ultimate. Great to reminisce about the old days and your car collection with a few pints to go with it cheers 🍻

Some top memories there Pat! I love cars too. I also have great memories thinking back to some of my Dad's 'best' cars - he used to show me pictures of his Ford Capri ! I remember his Escort XR3 which my Mum was highly unhappy with and made him send it back! He later came home with a Sierra XR 4x4 - which suffered the same 'wife' fate. Before those came a nice Renault 25 - with a lovely 2.0L engine and auto gearbox. He went up in the world with an 'S' reg Audi A4 2.0 - which was a lovely car, but the most insane was the Sierra XR4x4. My first car was a Renault Cli0 1.4 - '04' reg - and one I will always remember as my first car. My favourite so far has been an Audi A4 'S Line' TDI Ultra - which had around 190bhp and was rapid....... sadly that had to go back due to a change in circumstances.......... but it was fun whilst it lasted. I now have a Fiesta ST Line, which looks like an ST but doesn't cost an ST but is not slow....... if money were no object, I'd go for an Audi RS6 Avant. Thanks for sharing your love of cars Pat and some fantastic memories - ATB, Chris

Hi Chris, nice to hear from a wild camper with a love of cars as well, oth yourself d your dad have owned some great cars, sounds !Ike your dad loved the classic fords, the Sierra XR4x4 was a right machine, instant rally car. I had a Renault Clio for many years for work, 106 k miles then the oil pump packed up, interesting about the Fiesta ST line, the price of the ST was pretty high, did,nt know about this one being cheaper, great to chat about cars, makes a change from wild camping.... all the best Pat

Some lovely memories there. I can just picture you flying round a bend thrashing that Capris 2 litre pinto engine. I must admit as I'm getting older there is just no pleasure in driving anymore. Cost of fuel and horrendous traffic unless you venture out at night! I did hammer a load of company cars myself but never managed 18 tyres in 18 months, that is hilarious!

Hi Pat, cracking video, you had me laughing out loud with your anecdotes, especially the one where your gearstick gaitor got blown off!!! What better place to listen than to be perched on the bar in your pub shed ....... I must admit it was a bit crowded there with 48.9K others , not much elbow room either and the beer ran out all too quickly😁😁 The YEB were definately irresponsible letting you have that Capri!! That was a lovely kit car you made, maybe just as well you didnt get chance to fit that V8 in the end!!! You left us with some great driving through the peak district, was that snake pass? I expect that most of us have some driving anecdotes, so here goes. My first car was a Capri, a MKII, unfortunately went up in flames just before Xmas whilst I was driving so that was the end of that. After a Triumph and Consul Cortina (steering column gearchange) I got my dream car (at the time) a 1600E Cortina that one didnt turn out well either after a crash and getting it repaired it too went up in smoke on the motorway at Leicester, I had flames at my feet before I could get it onto the hard shoulder and get out. Eventually, through a friend at work , I got into banger racing, that is banger racing my cars when they got to the end of their life. I honestly dont think Ive ever had a greater burst of adrenaline in my life. These days I've calmed down a bit but would love to get a classic car like a Triumph Vitesse, no good having an open top down here, you would frazzle!! But soon they will be all electric and only a few will have the knowhow in order to tinkle with them. I'm just wondering whether you will have chance to test those snow shoes you made, I know its being snowing hard up there. Great video Pat, all the best and good luck from Spain!!

Nice to hear from you David and some nice stories, some of your old cars would be worth a fortune, always fancied a 1600 E. Banger racing sounds exciting, although I have never really competed in any motor sport. The snow up here was a big surprise, probably around 18 inch, spent all morning clearing it , but it will of gone on Monday and hopefully that's the last of it...... all the best Pat 👍

A totally different side to you I had no idea about and I like it! I can definitely relate to the speed thing and even progressed to a Honda Blackbird motorbike which I bought new in 1998 and still have to this day. While it's getting more and more difficult to enjoy driving rather than looking out for cameras everywhere, I still have a blast in both my car and bike from time to time whenever I feel fully awake and there's a clear stretch of road and like you, I do not believe in getting old.

Loved This Pat. What a young hooligan you were/are 😂😂 I was the same. I’ve been driving 40 years now. In those days. No speed cameras. No speed humps. Nothing. No anpr. We got away with murder. I used to drive my dads car a lot and I bought a few bangers. Old fiats mostly I was the scrapyards best customer. My best car was a Toyota supra TT. 1995 model. Oh my god what a machine. 175mph on the A1. The front started lifting so I eased up. That was in 2006.. I could talk to you for hours about old cars and adventures. They were just better back then. So good to watch this. Thanks for taking us along down memory “road” literally. 👍 👍 Atb 🍻

Great to have you along Andy, and there's me thinking 120 mph was pushing it, most of my most memorable times usually involved drinking, but second to that was bombing about in cars , working on cars or just looking at them, and like you so many stories associated with cars. I,an surprised how my views seem to drop off when I put something different on, for me I loved making this video and brought back so many memories wether Mr Google has something to do with it, I don,t know...can,t just wild camp all the time. "Presley, Monroe, Bogart and Dean", four iconic figures, for sure 😊 My school mate Terry had a Capri 2 litre 'S', his dad bought it him for his 21st birthday, lovely car that could shift very nicely with that 2 litre "Pinto" OHC engine. It was a 1978 'T' reg, about 3 years old at the time, The Professionals with Martin Shaw and Lewis Collins had them. 😃☺🚗

Hi there Pat. When you look back and think about the antics that we did when driving, yes I am lucky to be alive. I rolled my first car, totally write off,Triumph Herald 1250. It's funny I can remember the reg number. BJW 848 B that was 57 years ago but I can't remember the reg number of the car I drive now. It was a honour to join you in the pub. Pat you keep a excellent pint, looking to supping more with you. In the meantime. Take care, keep safe and keep smiling. Cheers 🍻 Pete.

Hi Pat. I took my Pass Plus back in 2017 I believe it was. Passed my test in 2016 and on the Pass Plus I drove from Scunthorpe to Sheffield Meadowhall. Wow, that was an eye-opener. The motorways weren't too bad though I got hemmed in a bit by three artics - that was a bit scary. But Sheffield was really busy. I would get no joy driving around Sheffield it is a nightmare - especially the roundabouts. In fact I nearly crashed on my Pass Plus on the way out of Sheffield as the instructor tried to correct me on a major roundabout when I started turning into the wrong lane. Just missed the barrier luckily as I made it back on course!
