Nice technologie, 57hp engine, thats more than enough!? inside absolut also, very beautiful and I love it. But when I think I only must sit outside by wind and weather on atlantic or only the Northsea... sorry no. this ist for sport sailing, not for wide easy cruising around the world for ladys my age 60. Steering inside when its rainig cats and dogs, stormy and big waves. Okay, with a sailing yacht you can reach most areas of the world, with no fuel or resourcess like Gas, but only outside for steering?! No no, its for shorttrips in the hollidays for the youth of us! This Yacht is nevertheless a good and beautiful Yacht♥

I'm going to guess no. Someone has to be in control and reactive. You can't drop anchor in the middle of the Atlantic to take a nap, and even taking available island pitstops, you would likely have 3 to 4 day legs, and that's assuming favourable winds. Minimum 2 person task. If nothing else safety would dictate two. What if you get incapacitated? Or slip and go overboard?

really? most of the interior looks quite cheap with the laminated veneer lumber. It looks like they ship was fitted by ikea. If they cut corners like this on the visible parts, i dont wanna know what they did on places you cant see

So Nick in your opinion, given that there are a plethora of sailing channels on KZbin, and they mainly use catamarans, which has led to record sales for them, do you see monohull manufacturers lowering prices to compete and pull from the market? Or are they just 2 separate markets like exotic cars vs 'grocery getters' and one doesn't effect the other?

I also went to the Ocean Village Boat Show, shame I missed you! This was actually one of the few boats I went on board as the large cockpit appealed to me; one usually has to go onboard a much longer sailing boat to experience that; why more boats don't have nice clean thoroughfares on the side decks is beyond me as it makes such a difference when going on the foredeck. Are you going to be at the electric boat show in Plymouth next week?

I'm just so surprised that this was the first time I saw a flip-down backrest on a yacht. It's been used on cars for ages and it's definately a very practical and useful design.

I'm disappointed you didn't talk about the interior layout options, such as omitting the chart table for a bigger kitchen. you can also decide to have a laundry room instead of that 3rd bathroom that in the end no one will ever use. It would have been interesting to know why Hanse also decided to go with one rudder instead of the 2 rudder trend.

I would like a sail boat but its all a bit too much work. Need to know all the wind details, which sail to put up and may spend long periods of time rocking sideways. Its all a bit easier now with everything being electric but when I have watched a sailing blog, they spend more time with the engine on than actually sailing. The only reason I would have a sail boat is if the world as we know it ceased to be and there wasn't anyone to fill diesel in a motor yacht. Lovely looking though.

Does it have molded gelcoat faux teak deck like it's bigger (older) brother? Or did they choose a different faux teak solution for this one? It's hard to see because the outside shots are a tad overexposed.

Form follows function is usually an excuse for bad looks, like being told your blind date has a good personality. While both good rules to live by - this boat breaks those and several others as well. The sleek hull and cabin defy the interior's ample utilitarian quarters and subtle charm. Hidden lines on deck isn't new, but ease of flow and control is an added bonus. The forward, finely finished sail locker is a great example of detail, detail, detail. Thanks Nick and good job Hanse - what a treat.

I realize it's a cruising boat but it would be nice if the bowsprit was set up for a free flying spinnaker furler. That G1 140% isn't going to be cut light enough for drifter conditions, once it's blowing 7 kts plus the performance hit between a 100% on the self tacker and a 140% is relatively small.

It's a pretty boat, with loads of room, but why do you need a double helm with two large wheels on a small cruise boat? Is it really for racing? A single versa helm would save about £75,000, freeing up a lot of room and still be a great boat.

So that, whichever tack you are on, you are in an upwind position with far better visibility. I think it's unlikely that a second wheel, pod and hydraulics cost more than the price of a brand new Porsche. 🙂

@@AQUAHOLIC However did the cruising world manage for all those decades, with just one helm? A versa helm switches back and forth in seconds (I realise that quite a bit of the dual-helm craze is for the "cool factor," but I'd rather put money into places which make the boat even more amazing and sail worthy). As for the wheel, pod, hydraulics and the repeating electronics? A carbon wheel of that caliber is already more than six grand. Anyway... Always enjoy your videos, as your enthusiasm is contagious and you're definitely bringing the sailing world to everyone!
