Intel or AMD. Nvidia or Radeon? HDD or SSD?, etc. You may have accomplished the final shove I needed in order to make the choice as to building at home rather than going with something that I may end up totally disappointed in within a few months and have little or no option of upgrading or improving. The ideal specs were on point in terms of VRAM. The sim does need at least 16gb of VRAM but that' if you were to max the settings out on 1440p ultrawide/ superultrawide or 4K. I went from an 8gb to 16gb gpu and that made the difference in terms of smoothness running high quality airports.

This is great, but a few things. What about flying a high end airliner with scenery and all the gauges. Not too many people are going to fly behind the aircraft. Your tweens maybe but serious simmers are going to fly in cockpit. YES impressive views and FPS on such a budget machine. Truly impressive.
@PCTechHustle4 жыл бұрын
Thanks and good points! Actually the reason why I got behind the aircraft was to immerse into the surrounding world to render as much world around me as possible in real time to hit the hardware as hard as possible. In a cockpit view much of that is chopped off which will actually result in better game play if that is what you are after but I wanted to display the simulation in it’s entirety so nothing is left to question.

Pretty close to the one I just built to do FS2020. I used a Ryzen 5 3600 I got on sale for $165 at Micro Center, a RX 580 , same motherboard, same ram, different case but similar, 1 Terabyte SSD, etc. I bought all except CPU from Amazon and spent about $700. I've built a machine as well. You will LEARN A TON! You'll REALLY feel like you have a lot more control over your computer, the systems inside and how it all works. BE VERY careful if you do build that you don't skimp. When I built mine I did try to save here and there. BIG mistake. For another 500 bucks (another month or so later on) I could have then had a monster of a machine. So just be careful if you do decide to build. FAR better to save and get the power you think you may need plus more, then to have the gotta get it now mentality and wish you had more horsepower.

Very good video as usual! I have a question I recovered a 128 GB msata disk from a laptop. I am thinking of making it the "boot" partition. Is it better to take a PCIe or Sata adapter?
@PCTechHustle4 жыл бұрын
Thanks!!! I am not not entirely sure what you are trying to ask here, but If you pull a sata drive from a device and install it into another you have to continue to use sata power and sata data connections to operate the drive. You can yes reserve to make that a bootable drive while having other drives as auxiliary storage drives (if that is the question). When you say pci-e the thing that comes to mind is you may also be referring to a NVMe drive, which utilizes pci-e lanes for data transfer. Which yes you can also use that (if your motherboard supports it), and also make that a boot drive. Hopefully that helps!

That is where you are going to get a HUGE hit. You will sadly have to run on everything scaled to low. There are a lot more settings here that can bump FPS. So far better to build a bit higher end if you require all the buttons and whistles. Keep in mind everyone, that FPS over 35 is a waste. The human eye cannot detect it. Especially over 45 on up. No need for it. So better to have a machine that can deliver most of the goodies you require, and have it perform like the video here. Spending TOO much money does have a point of no return.

$2000 will make for a beast of a build! MSFS2020 definitely demands raw GPU power though. I think a Ryzen 5 6core will be plenty enough of CPU to handle it and most many other games. With money saved on CPU (and having an upgrade path) you can invest a lot into GPU and other things. Hey friend, I have 10400F + 3060 Ti, but while flying photogrammed cities like NY, my GPU barely reaches 60% usage - resulting in a poor performance, around 25-30 fps. I thought it could be CPU bottlenecking, but when I saw this video I just can't believe the reason of the problem is only the low base clock of 10400F, since it reaches 4 Ghz during gameplay. All drivers are updated, do you have any idea of what I can do?
@PCTechHustle4 жыл бұрын
A 3060ti is a lot of horse power. So the only thing that comes to mind is a potential CPU bottleneck. This game though is usually much harder on the GPU. Get MSI afterburner like I did here and monitor the CPU usage too. If you in fact are bottle necking you need to bump up settings on the GPU to make it work 100%. When you have a CPU bottleneck usually you see the GPU usage drop deep under 100% like this. It’s basically waiting on the CPU to catch back up result in frame drops.

@@PCTechHustle I think my problem persists. I believe I have some rendering problems too, and I don't know why. If you look at this image, imgur.com/a/a22oERL, you can see that the buildings are distorted until I get VERY close to them, and that causes a lot of stuttering. At the middle right there is a bug, looking like a vulcan, that happens in some big cities too. The settings are presetted "High".

Is this specs enough for 1080p MSFS 2020 on a budget: i5-10400F RX - 6400 16GB RAM 512 GB SSD nvme
@PCTechHustle2 жыл бұрын
I’d stay away from 6400/6500s, they have reduced PCI-e lanes which really don’t make them a good value buy. Look for RX 6600s or if you are really on a budget an RX 580 as featured in this build can be found very cheap now on eBay / used markets.

Could you please say "all" monitor specifications needed to run Microsoft Flight Simulator X and Microsoft Flight Simulator 2004 in terms of 1080p, 2560 x 1440p and 4K monitors? With fps in the range of 30fps to 45 fps what monitor refresh rate is best to use? Will a 60Hz monitor be best or a higher refresh rate monitor is better considering fps does dip down to around 28 fps at times and are not uncommon? Thanks for your help.

do you have to to upgrade the motherboard or the psu to upgrade to the gtx 1660 super shown in the description? What about the r 5 3600 in the description?

Nah all will work with the current hardware. I’d say you will only need a PSU upgrade if you start dipping into 2060 territory. For the CPU the motherboard is ryzen 3000 ready as unused a 3100. Just drop in the new CPU and go!

Nah. The 1660s actually has similar power requirements to the rx 570 as in this build uses and the Ryzen 3100 and 3600 both are 65w chips. In short you don’t need to change PSUs

Yep. When it comes to monitors get the average monitor, but get two or three if budget allows! A lot more fun to not have to keep scolling all over to say program the FMS or operate complex systems when you get into the multi-engine turboprop or turbojet aircraft.

I found out that windows10 are to blame for slow running sims also they throw lots of garbage into a win 10 system that ends up making anything run slow.
