There are so many toxins present in people today that weren’t present back then and people were so much more physically fit it is insane. People eat literal poison nowadays and don’t even know your mind is going to explode when I tell you about the presence of heavy metals like lead in fast food lmao. Sure hospital care was worse and many didn’t have access to it but they had way lower rates of depression and mental illness for a reason(which is heavily linked with diet and gut health). I don’t know how people always say people are super healthy now and then go eat McDonald’s and live in a country with a 40% obesity rate. Also the length of your life isn’t directly correlative to your health it’s mainly medical care.

Tobacco isn't that bad but cigarettes manufacturers definitely adding something much more addictive than nicotine to cigs. But it depends of country laws. I'm from Russia and cigarettes here are not worst what I have tried, cigarettes from Kazakhstan are not shy about acetone and other highly toxic components in them. When I smoked one I had an instant dizziness and marshmallow legs feel. And that is why quitting cold turkey from rolling tobacco is 10 times easier than cigs. So I failed my speed run 😭

I worked 11 hears in the restaurant, hotels, nightlife/clubbing parts of the service industry as a bartender, I used to get 1 break to smoke per shift, and if I could sneak one minute out was 98% of the time with the line cooks lol, they were the fkng best. I used to love my job, Kinda miss it. But these industries are too fcked and exploitative for very shitty pay. Never again.
