Great show; 500 is awesome and mine is no different. Ammo expensive so I reload all my own. Keep up great shooting. My CCW revolver, qualified by shooting 25 times just to be able to carry all smaller calibers but I can carry and do have a holster for it. I love shooting it. Shoot low ricochets definitely count with this beast.

Love shooting my .500. I have really taken a liking to the 700gr bullet loads. I find shooting mine very therapeutic. Best relaxation I know.
@bososz9 жыл бұрын
fishinkeylargo Yup, they are as much fun to look at as they are to shoot. i need to test the hollow point version (penta and round) some time in some gelatin. another awesome bullet is the NOE 375gr spire point, though mine typically come out at 400gr using WW mixed 50/50 with pure.
@FateofDestinee9 жыл бұрын
fishinkeylargo I've gotten to put a few different kinds of .500 Magnum ammo through this Model 500, but for this occassion, we were plinking with 325 grain rounds, if I remember correctly.
@fishinkeylargo9 жыл бұрын
bososz I don't cast so I mainly reload 440gr GC hard cast flat points and 335 gr Rainer plated hollow points. At 17¢ a bullet the Rainers make for an inexpensive option to reload. With powder, primer, and my own brass I can reload a cartridge for under 40¢. I push them to 1650 FPS from my 6.5" barrel with no issues at all.
@aussiewombat14099 жыл бұрын

I have the original '03 model. Has an 8 and 5/8" barrel, over four pounds empty. Has a lot less recoil than that model. They are attention getters at the range. Keep up the good videos Des.

bullit4x Aww, I dunno about that. Steve is quite competent with the .500 Magnum. It was a pleasure to share the 500 fun :D
@pickin4you9 жыл бұрын
Guns Gear & Fitness I will have to agree, that you did handle it better than Steve. Two handed anyway. Looking at it again, you both did about the same one handed, but you seemed to control the recoil a bit better two handed. I know for me, I would not even want to try it. If I was young again, then maybe.

Yeah, you have to give the edge to Dest for superior control. Tames that beast by never underestimating it's ferocity.
@ostiariusalpha9 жыл бұрын
***** Did you actually watch anything? You can easily see the small steel silhouette they're shooting at 0:22, 1:25, 2:00, and 2:40 in the video. You can see & hear them hitting it, plain as day. What were you looking at?
@eric198759 жыл бұрын
ostiariusalpha Thank you. I agree with you. ***** Great shooting includes also having a great control of the recoil. Which both made a great job on it too. But Dest was better.

First person I've seen shoot the 500 in DA. Everybody else only does SA.
@FateofDestinee9 жыл бұрын
Koromose Once in a while, I'll shoot it SA. It does have a nice trigger pull on it--around 4-5lbs, or so (which feels crazy light compared to the 10ish pound pull of the DA trigger), but shooting this wheelgun in double action is just more fun ;D

You're a brave young lady. I wouldn't even shoot any .50 caliber handgun. I have shot a .50 bmg tactical short barrel, and a 500 s&w Magnum rifle, but the highest I'm gonna go on a handgun is a .44 Magnum. Does it hurt your hands to shoot .50 caliber handguns?

Novelty gun. Fun to shoot once or twice, but why punish yourself while shooting?!?! Sold my .44 for that reason.
@TheSev-9 жыл бұрын
Chris Slack That's half the fun of owning a large caliber pistol. The pain reminds you that you just shot something awesome.
@FateofDestinee9 жыл бұрын
Chris Slack I usually don't fire more than 100 rounds in a single range trip with the .500 Magnum. I don't consider it punishing on my hand so much as punishing on my wallet lol Still, very fun!

yes it is impractical just like a rolex or lamborghini or a mansion with more bathrooms then residents, but who doesn't want to race home in a two hundred thousand dollar car looking at their sixty thousand dollar watch (because car has no radio) to poop wherever they want;) nice shooting by the way looks like fun
@CLARKSCANADIANOUTDOORS9 жыл бұрын
It always impresses me destiny how you shoot the gun in double action accurately as well as single handed in double. You don't see too many people who can do it accurately at least. Your a very impressive lady and the ground you walk on should be worshipped, not like a Quentin Tarantino creepy foot fetish thing either but you know etc. One serious question though are you using single rounds to avoid any full auto symptoms or incidents where people had the gun go full auto under heavy recoil? Just curious and again well done. Let me know if your standards ever lower if so I'm your guy lol.
