500 MILES - TRIBUTE TO MARY TRAVERS

"500 Miles" was written by Hedy West in 1961. John Phillips is often recognized as a co-writer, although Phillips admitted he had only rearranged it. Peter, Paul and Mary had a major hit with the song in 1963. Mary Traver's voice was a big reason for the group's success. In my opinion, their version is the best recorded to date.
Here is my version. I thought I would record it and use the music over a Via Rail trip from Winnipeg to Vancouver.
The drums and bass were programmed on iReal Pro using a personal chart. The instruments I used were a Nord Electro 3 keyboard and an Akai EWI 4000S wind synth. A Patchman turbochip in it made it possible to play air sax, ocarina, tambura and a few more instruments
