First of all, I L O V E D I T! I'm kinda of a cactus maniac and a recent hobby that I was working in my free time is drawing cactus people, but instead people with cactus features, they are antropomorphized cacti (it may become a webcomic or whatever), so that video made me realy realy happy! About the oposite powers hero, I remember a heroin that I created years ago; she chan control red matter and blue energy (two types of compounds in a fictional universe that i created that cause bad things if mixed toghether) and her emotional state can just blow everything up mixing blue energy and red matter! *hoping for you to read my comment*

The way i would do it is maybe they are twins and the cactus even though they are spiky can be soft and sweet on the inside. And sunflowers can be beautiful but they try to grow taller than the other sunflowers so i would draw two characers one based on the cactus, and one on the sunflower. GREAT VIDEO!

An opposite hero-villain I can think of on the spot would probably be Earth and Air. A person with the ability to manipulate earth and minerals as well as air, air would be their angrier side because air seems more uncontrollable in my opinion. The person has a grasp on their emotions but when upset can cause tornadoes and other air/wind related catastrophes....sorry not a good idea, especially since earth would probably be better for the angry side, earth quakes and all.

You could make a whole story into this! I can't explain how much I just love this character >0< what if he really just doesn't want to choose a side but the bad and good guys are pressuring him to use his powers and to join their side? What if in the end he becomes unstable and fills half of the city with flowers and cactuses? But then what if the flowers turn out to be evil because - shoot sorry I'm getting carried away! I like how despite when covering up half of the drawing it clearly shows either the innocence or maliciousness (is that even a word?) in the character but when it's seen as a whole it just looks like a mad, amused grin, which could also be kinda symbolic of how people often see and focus more on the bad than the good if you think about it.

On the hero/villain opposites thing, I had a character once with the power to manifest things from strong emotions. He started out only knowing about his ability to manifest people's fears. It made him a pretty strong villain. He wanted to force people to confront their fears because said fears were constantly seeping into him. After a friend helped him give up villainy, they went out of town to ease some of the constant pop in of fears that my character was getting, which was making him ill. They met the deity that had given my character his powers and found out they he could manifest from any high emotion. He could make things that made people happy, or sad, or angry, or excited. The story never got far enough for me to use his newly realized powers tho.

Hmm, an opposite super who's plushie vs stone. When they're feeling content and cuddly they're all soft like a stuffed toy while when they're feeling hostile or closed off they become hard stone. Either way they're immobile while the power is active, which makes learning to control their emotions really vital.

Oh my. This reminded me of my story about a little daffodil that fell off a florists truck in the desert whilst going to be sold at a new shop in Utah. Anyways. Lola (The daffodil ) get stuck there in need of water. Sooner or later the texan cactus Clarence found Lola dried up and rushes to his oasis only to find his family were gone and the Oasis has only a little bit of water left. They collected the rest of the water and went on there way to find Clarence's family and then travel to Utah all the way from Texas to find the old florist.
