Sounds a beauty free wheeling pulley always a noise problem ,,you did very well ,best of luck, I have the 2.5 T awd same colour ,the xc90 will never look aged ,they still hold their Composure against modern models....🎉🎉🎉🎉

For your gauge cluster Try Cartronix they are located in Waterlooville And they can repair that cluster for £150 if you go to the place they can repair the Cluster and give it back to you in 45 Minutes I hope this helps and take care

The 2 new headlights cost more than what you paid for the car I wouldnt be whinging g about little stone chips or discoloured chrome ,I would be jumping with joyfor the big Present I was given, best of luck with the project,🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉

Pretty good condition considering its age once really good valeting and deep polish it will transform this . Suspension braks and deal with some rust will bring it back very well worth saving from ɓeing turned into washingmachine shells . Some engine attention and a bit of money time will give many miles of service and a good work horse good luck

Good video. Got an 05 plate 2.4 d5 163 bhp xc90 myself. Ive had mine 2 years and its been brilliant. Mines has done 129000 miles. When i bought mine i needed brandnew battery, drivebelt, timing belt, tensioners, pulleys, brandnew altenator bought a bosch one done the intercooler but its been worth it i enjoy driving it and people tend to not get in ur way when driving 😂 need to look at my awd as i have only 2wd but i think its the haldex pump. Also bought the legend unit aswell which gives the car a modern feel. My drivers seat has the the same problem but all in all i enjoy it.

The strut top marks are only the SPOT WELDS ,,WHICH CREATE GREAT HEAT WHEN BEING WELDED DUE TO THE METAL THICKNESS ,NOTHING TO WORRY ABOUT JUST WIREBRUSH AND PAINT WITH Hammering bright silver, ease easy, lovely jubly😂😂😂😂😂😂😂

I have one of these on a 53 plate. It is possible that your CEM could be faulty too. Fortunately, the modules can be repaired for about £150 each. Volvo Diagnostic in Tilbury, Essex offers this service. The copper washers for the fuel injectors might need to be replaced. I had a similar limp mode problem. I had to have the turbo rebuilt, a new intercooler and a new solenoid valve for the turbo actuator. I had to replace my DEM to cure the dreaded "anti-skid service required" error message.

That looks very promising, David! I'm still amazed by the low prices you pay for used cars in the UK. But probably the RHD cars are not very popular for export to Eastern Europe, where a lot of European cars end up eventually.

That leather on the seats can be improved with Connolys leather restorer come in several colours including black. I have just done me 2012 xc 60 they now look new.

I bought a 54 xc90 couple of weeks a go for same money, I went for early XC90 because they don't have a dpf and swirl flaps. Biggest issues are undoing previous owners bodges! He allegedly used a local garage for all work, but after finding that the head light bulbs were in upside down and a few spanners left in the engine bay plus absolutely mullered lock nuts, either he should find another garage or leave the jobs to a garage? Currently rebuilding the parking brakes with 850 adjuster mod, new engine mounts, cambelt etc.. and a stage zero service, I have replaced all the discs and pads. Sold my V70 T5 to fundthe XC90 and give me some working capital, basically the same amount again. I did have some money left over to buy a 2010 Mondeo estate, transport whilst I sort the Volvo. Plan being the XC is sorted and good to go a few more years for under £1200. My reasoning is that for £1200 I could buy something newer with a longer MOT but still needing similar work at some point? I also get disabled tax relief which saves a few pennies. I was quite surprised how big the XC is when I parked it next to my L322 Range Rover, always thought of them as mid sized SUVs but it is on a par with LR though I don't think I would use the XC for serious off roading?

Pull the engine mounting vacuum pipe off the TCV and block it, If the popping noise goes you have tired engine mounts, Also get a INA Front end auxiliary drive kit when you do the timing belt, Mine set me back about £115 but at 235K miles my D5 tensioner and idlers were gritty as hell and you dont want the D5 to do it's trick of munching the aux belt into the timing belt! No DPF on this just a cat, That is why Euro3 D'5's are the best of the bunch, My only concern at that mileage is the awful Aisin warner autobox, If it is still shifting without thumping and flaring it might be worth an oil flush to keep it going but it will eventually fail as the valve block simply wears out.

Haha my cheap xc70 - driveshaft isn't turning, power steering leak, rack boot full of fluid, Looking at the angle gear soon. Had to buy double end 180* spanner socket things and flex heads. amazingly horrible to work on. Built like a tank though. Water leak in the cowl so carpets out😅 sticking hands in tight places with 1/32th ratchet movements🎉

Great video, great job. I'm a recent first P2 XC90 owner myself so looking forward to following along. Re the brake pull, let me guess it pulles to the right under braking? Also tip, center consel arm rest can be removed.

Brake pulling is often front subframe bushings. You can get assistance pieces that fit into the OEM bushes to stiffen them up if they haven't completed collapsed.

Only think that stops me getting one is the ancient electronics. Is love to know how easy fitting some after market reversing cam and android carplay solution would be?

how much are 4 new michelin tyres? the wheels and tyres must be worth £500 on their own. These things really can eat the money, like going down a rabbit hole/money pit, reallistically I would scrap the beast after pulling of the wheels and tyres and any good bits I could sell but then where would you get the video content? Maybe make some money from the beast and keep trading up. Good luck with the channel!

I’m glad KZbin allows for speeding up and skipping through a video. 50 minutes of going over every imperfection on it and nothing is accomplished. You didn’t even clean it. I hope in the next parts of this series to fix every single imperfection you went over in this video.

Thanks for the feedback, but I'm not looking to produce short form videos or imitating how others are doing things. Could I be more concise, sure, but that's not my goal, plan or why I'm here. If that's not your cup of tea there's plenty of other content out there for you.

@@indecisiveauto there’s nothing wrong with showing the car in detail. But that doesn’t need to be a 50 minute video. For these types of videos your audience loves seeing a project from beginning to end/start to finish. But maybe rehear what you’re going to say. You say the same thing over and over taking up time. Or go over the car and do a cleaning. Then the next video fixing some of the issues like drive train. Next video suspension and brakes. Etc. and you don’t have to be detailed in those videos. But I’m giving advice. Do what you want with it but following the views
