I to buy myself a T 100 but using it for the past two years, I’ve learned to use and adjust to its limitation, compared to some of the other cameras that I’ve used this past year. Yes it has its limitations but it works for what I need. Thanks for the post and for the exclamation between the R6 and the T 100.

The only major limitation I ran into was the autofocus lagging behind what is in the newer Canon mirrorless cameras, but still a very impressive performance given the price point. I haven't tested it myself, but I would expect nicer glass would close the gap between the T100 and R6 even more.

I am late to the game but, I really appreciate the video. Got myself t100 (3000D) a few weeks ago and really felt inferior about it compared to other cameras. After this video, just bought myself a better lens (50mm 1.8) than the 18-55mm kit lens and started taking portraits. Thank you

The T100 is an excellent camera, I have had the privilege to shoot with some of the highest end cameras money can buy and I still thoroughly enjoyed running around Pittsburgh with the T100 just grabbing shots!! Enjoy the journey of shooting and finding your own voice and style.

I got it for $400 and with a little of post processing i think the 4000D is an amazing camera for a regular person like me.

Your results are exactly what I expected. Professional level contrast, more accurate color, much more dynamic range, far superior sharpness and much lower noise. You didn’t even touch on frame rate, ergonomics, in body ibis, great focusing system, customization. The R6 is a camera that can be used in professional applications and the T-100 is a solid entry level camera. It’s a good tool to learn photography with.

The parts I noticed most were the objects in the dark, and the water reflections. But, for it to take 20-30 seconds of studying is impressive for the t100. For the price, this thing looks nice.

Glad i got the T11 for my First Camera. I love it. Now i want a Bigger one :) I got a Refurbished Canon 70-300 lens. Was Cheap. Loving it. Fun learning photography :)

Would have been cool to see the different effect on image when moving some sliders in Lightroom. I'm sure the R6 controls everything better but still would be nice to see how big the difference is.

I knew it. All of them were R6 just as I though... I knew that by mostly comparing dynamic range but honestly the difference is very very small. Sharpness was pretty much the same at least in YT quality. I guess the biggest difference between the two comes to low light conditions, auto focus and other important stuff...

That is more dependent on the lens, the Canon EF-S 18-55mm IS II lens that I was using has a close focusing distance of 0.8ft so I would say you should be fine to get some nice close up macro shots!

I wouldn't recommend the T100 for video work. For vlogging, something like the Canon M50 is much better suited. Look for if the camera has Dual Pixel AF, that is going to make your life so much easer when making videos!!

It's crazy how much a good lens can do for a camera. If I can get my hands on some EF L glass, I am curious what the T100 would look like, unfortunately I only own RF lenses.

@@JasonPischke I sell all of EF and EFS lenses once I get into the RF system too. I love the RF 24-70, 70-200 F4 (Very lightweight and affordable). The only lens I use is the EFS 10-18mm. The pictures are still useable after post. Since it is 8 times cheaper than the RF 15-35. I'll buy it once the real estate jobs have my cover for this expensive lens lol.

But, isn't the R6 FF, while the T100 is crop? So, apples/oranges, no? FF have larger sensors.

Correct, the R6 is full frame compared to APS-C with the T100. I shot everything at F8 and ISO 100 so the low light advantages or deeper depth of field you get with full frame weren't a factor, but they are different sensors for sure.

A great affordable lens option would be the Canon EF-S 24mm f/2.8 STM. It gives you a focal range around 38mm which is a favorite amongst many street photographers. Another lens that I always enjoyed shooting with on crop sensor cameras is the 35mm f/1.8. Hope that helps point you in the right direction!

I feel like my t100 does not fair well in nightclubs or venues unless there’s really good lighting or I use my flash, is there any way to combat this? Overall without flash my photos come out noticeably less sharp than in the day. Great video

Unfortunately that is a limitation of the smaller sensor size and how well it is optimized for high iso scenarios. Generally higher end sensors like with the R6 perform much better in low light. The best thing you can do is try and use prime lenses like a 50mm or 35mm that are f/1.8 or f/1.4 since that will allow much more light into the camera at the same shutter speed. You could also shoot at higher iso's and use third party denoising software like Topaz DeNoise AI, but I would recommend using a lense with a wider aperture first.

Unfortunately this was a bit of a last minute test and I wasn’t able to get a EF-RF adaptor in time to test the same lens on both camera’s. It is something I try to do though, in an upcoming video with the R8 I use the same lens for every test!

In daylight I was pleasantly surprised with how quick and accurate the T100 would focus. I have gotten spoiled with touch to focus and missed having that touchscreen you get on the R6.
