Referencing to the conversation about real vs fake fur and manufacturing in China. Real fur is easily sourced due to the lack of restrictions and protection to animal farming and skinning. Fake fur is made of poly plastics, and while cheap, is much more expensive than farming rabbits in a small space. It's also really important to note that fur isn't categorically soft. Depending on the animal it came off of, and its health condition, fur can feel fake and rough. Taking rabbit as my example as its the most common use for fur in china. Its depends on the type of rabbits they breed. The comparison between a wild rabbit and a domesticated rabbits fur are night and day, just like that of a hare to a rabbit. My best advice is to always presume the fur is real, because odds are its either fully animal fur, or it is partially animal fur. It's not often something from China that isn't monitored for a brand is 100% fake fur, filling etc.

Agreed, I have fur coats that I got from my grandma, they’re at least around 80 years now, and both are mink and one is lovely and smooth and the other is scratchy and harsh, and I also have some amazing fake fur that is so soft and luxurious. So real fur is definitely hard to discern from fake.

@@LuvableBabyDe if you dig through real fur, you can always see the skin underneath. If the fur is too dense to fully dig through it, it is most likely fake. Or if you see mesh underneath, it's fake, too. If you softly blow on it, real fur will always move with the air current and fake fur won't move as easily. That are my methods to determine whether fur is fake or real
