Bsa B31 Plunger, Re-bore and new piston.

Rebore and new piston following the discovery of a circlip coming out of the piston, some more work to the cylinder head.

Dave, I’ve looked back at the previous video’s to see if I could spot why the circlip came out. I re-used the original piston as it was well within the tolerances. I did fit new circlips though and maybe they were I bit to thick to fit the grooves in the piston (just guessing ) anyway sorted it now I hope. Thanks for the comment. Cheers B

Shame about the circlip Brian, but it does run beautifully on the new piston. If I'd known you were visiting my part of the country you could have had a cup of tea! I'm just south of Didcot on the way to Newbury. Best wishes, Dean in Oxfordshire.

Jonathan I did manage to recover the circlip that was jammed in the piston. The piston was damaged as was the bore, not badly but they needed to be dealt with. I kept the original piston as it was in good condition and within the BSA tolerances as per the service sheets but I used new circlips, I’m not certain but maybe the new circlip was a mismatch for the old piston and didn’t seat properly. I took extra care when fitting the new piston and double checked the circlips were seated OK I’ve noticed some other guys on KZbin have had the same problem. Thanks for the comment, Cheers B
