Already my favorite Shinkansen. So sad we need to wait so long for the Takeo-Onsen and Shin-Tosu. Hope the rest of the line will be constructed one day. It will be much more easier to go from Osaka to Nagasaki.

If it weren't for the recalcitrant Saga Prefecture government, the entire line from Nagasaki to Shin-Tosu would be finished by now. Instead, JR Kyushu will have to run a limited express "relay" service from Hakata to Takeo Onsen station.

Especially since it's the easiest section that remains to be done....47km between Takeo Onsen and Shin Tosu station (in fact a junction to the south of it). There is no relief.Only the crossing of Saga will require expropriations.

@@Lodai974 However, there may be an agreement to route the remaining gap near the Nagasaki Expressway instead. I believe JR Kyushu and the Saga Prefecture government is working on such an agreement now.

@@Sacto1654 this risks inflating the bill, the highway passing along the relief.
What train is that at 1:32 on the left? looks amazing!

That is 787 series, one of major models for limited expresses in Kyusyu . It runs as limited express “Kamome” until the new Shinkansen starts to serve.

This line was under construction when I was in Japan in 2016 (when I became a fan of the Nozomi 503 KZbin channel). Is this route 42" gauge (1,067 mm - gauge used in Japan for most local lines, such as those going to Nagasaki) or is it 4'-8-1/2" (1,435 mm - standard gauge used for the shinkansen service) or is it going to be dual gauge (like the Yamagata and Akita 'mini-Shinkansens' that run north from Tokyo).

This route is constructed by standard guage(1435mm). This new line only links between Nagasaki and Takeo-Onsen. Passengers going to Saga,Hakata, and Osaka have to change trains at Takeo-Onsen.

@@sueyoshihideaki9517 I believe that JR Kyushu will run a "relay" service from Hakata to Takeo Onsen stations using 783, 785, 883 or 885 Series train sets that may have no stops between Hakata and Takeo Onsen.
