Buk, your solo on "You Were Always On My Mind" was exquisite. Just like you teach us homeskoolers. You pretty much played the melody, with feel and lovely tone. You didn't upstage Stapleton, just enhanced the listening experience. Masterful. Interesting to see the lessons play out in real time on stage on tv. I can see how just strumming chords, alone, under pressure to be perfect , is demanding. You showed whoever was paying attention how it is done. The Session Man comes through..

I've always watched you play with near flawless execution and great phrasing - but I was amazed at how quickly you were able to come up with parts that not only worked, but made the song. I was 30 when I had my first kid and I 100% agree , 38 would have been the perfect age . Trying to hustle and support a family took alot of time that I could have spent with my kids.

I touched base with an old friend last week, and we always talk about your channel. I asked him if he caught that episode, he and I both agreed that when you played the melody to that song, it brought us to tears conjuring up fond childhood memories.
