That was awesome. Thanks so much for showing this off. I’ve had it for awhile but was just too overwhelmed to try it out. I think I can do it now!

"Dave's doing the no road strategy." HA HA. The episode I watched just before this one was the Automobiles game where Dave did the only white and light grey gears strategy. The writers really know the characters. :D

I guess one could actually go for it here. The modification tool "-15g per Trolly Upgrade" let you fully upgrade it for 125g, thats your 3rd turn. From there on u can move your trolly with maximum speed while the others spend their money on Villagers. Since the end of game depends on delivered Goods you can speed up the game and the long term playstyle with a road network wont catch up to your fast Trolly. Didnt make the maths nor I ever played this game, but I am pretty sure one could win here with this shortcut tactic. greetings

At 59:00 Did Nikki decline to take a free 2 points? It seems like this was a counter-strategic move as it ALSO helped everyone else at the table. I prooobably would've explicitly mentioned this when she asked if she "did something bad".
@heccubus1
@heccubus1 9 жыл бұрын
+Chris Eaton Wow, I didn't even notice that when it was happening (or during editing). She really should have taken the 2 points. Live and learn I guess.

Woah! Shouldn't aaron have just given her the free one? That is crazy.
@Ruricu
@Ruricu 9 жыл бұрын
+angewomon143 Very likely. She seems focused on the fact that she can't afford to buy a card. I think he noticed that she declines to take the free card (and maybe there would be a strategic reason not to, in some rare cases?). When Aaron says, "So--you're not buying a privilege card", he prooobably should've ended that sentence with, "not even these free points?". My next thought was wondering if, after her action, several cards becoming free helped the following two players significantly, but they elected to buy their privileges anyway.
@angewomon143
@angewomon143 9 жыл бұрын
+Chris Eaton that makes sense, but that is still crazy. I love watching them all play these games. Maybe Nikki will realize the next time they play that the card is free if it happens again. I can hardly wait to play this game with my friends!

@heccubus1

+Jason Wayne Speicher This is really a very expensive game to manufacture and that might have had something to do with the decision to do paper money, that and I think Friedemann likes paper money ;)

I've been wanting very much to find someone who has this game in order to play it. Was there any reason Nikki didn't just get the free 2 VP at 59:07, or was that just an oversight on her part, because she forgot it wouldn't impact her $?

Very neat game, but I imagine this is definitely for gamers. My primary game group is fairly casual and I'd imagine this is way to fiddly for them but would love to have it for "regular gamers".

With the rules explanation, it's difficult to tell what made world 163 unique. There's road building for the "6", but how would the world be different from world 613 or 136? Is income always computed the same or is the income computed this way only in world 163 (is income the 1?)... I'm puzzled. The main draw to this game is the 504 variants and 9 modules, but it's difficult to tell what's apart of the base game and what's only apart of game "163".
@heccubus1
@heccubus1 9 жыл бұрын
+Rick Mullinix As we explained in the discussion after playing the game, the nature of the modules change depending on the order in which it is implemented. So pick up and delivery in the final position is drastically different than in position 1. It no longer is the way you score points. Additionally you should not let 163 describe the whole of the system for you. There really is an amazing variety to how this game is played inside the box.

While the idea and product is very clever and neat; naturally, it seems and feels generic. I love games who create a dense atmosphere, an interesting setting, sort of a story background - so, I guess, this one's not for me. :)

looks like a game thats trying to be all things to all people and comes across as ....not much at all really - yes before someone replies it IS clever but looks as fun as root canal dentistry....and game 163 was basically Catan - zzzzz
@heccubus1
@heccubus1 9 жыл бұрын
+skyblaze eterno I suppose it superficially resembles Catan but it does not feel like it at all while playing. Maybe just the expansion of your settlements and roads, but it didn't have the same sense of urgency because you didn't NEED them to score points, only to increase your income. It really is a different game and was quite fun to play as are the other worlds I've played so far.

Well I do like to watch the rules as I want to see how it plays, but 30 mins of rules is loooong. I ended up watchng it all but was pretty bored by the time it got to the playing. Whilst it is true I could skip to the game, without the rules it is pretty much meaningless. I love your videos, but I personally feel that 36mins of rules or however long it ended up is pushing it and just made the video drag on needlessly. +NaptownMVP - don't be so keen just to dismiss people's point of view just because it doesn't match yours. My view is vaild and you shouldn't just brush it off as irrelevant.
@guyaudio632
@guyaudio632 8 жыл бұрын
+boardgamegeektv I think it does shows that the game WILL take average of 30 min to explain for the first time, and so ppl with little gaming time would not want to pick this up with new players.
