A very relaxing road trip. I've not been to that area since high school. It brings back good memories of my life in the 70's.

Does leaves stay green all year long?

There are only a few types of trees where the leaves change colors. Most trees just drop their leaves when it gets cold towards the end of December. Grass turns yellow. Our only real cold period is from the end of December to the end of February, and that can vary from year to year. We can go 2-3 years without the temperature dropping below freezing in New Orleans. North of Lake Pontchartrain, where this is filmed, tends to be 5-10 degrees cooler than New Orleans.

I dont remember the Chess Richardson Bridge looking like that. I thought it was a cantilever bridge

That’s a pretty modern bridge. But in the 20 years I’ve been going up there, that’s the bridge that’s been there. I’ll try to look in to what was originally there. But it’s awful short for a cantilever. I could see some sort of drawbridge maybe.

@@504RoadTrips it wasn't a cantilever. I got that mixed up, it was a pony truss bridge from 1935 that was replaced around 1998

@@supercool2999yes, that I could see being there. I didn’t make regular trips up that way before 1998, so I can’t remember. There were a lot of pony truss bridges built in that era. Most notably the three along Hwy 90 between Slidell and the Mississippi state line.
