I noticed that the Bonnabel Blvd exit has changed since I moved to Lake Charles in 2009.

George B Vieto the whole interstate between the Parish line and Clearview has been redone and widened in the past decade, but I thought that project went back before 2009. But I can’t come up with any reference point for when it was under construction. I avoided that area like the plague while all that was going on.

I do not blame you since I used to live in Bucktown from 1978-2009 and the Bonnabel Blvd and North Causeway area was my worst nightmare.
@504RoadTrips
@504RoadTrips 6 жыл бұрын
George B Vieto one thing I can say now is that the delays through all of Metairie when heading west don’t start until you get close to Kenner now. And it’s mostly from spillway traffic these days. They really opened things up by improving the Causeway interchange.

+audubon5425 Yeah, I-10 is still closed at Prairieville and I-12 is closed at some point east of Baton Rouge. US-61 is the only way in, and I hear it's pretty treacherous right now. AT&T has an outage across the entire Baton Rouge area so a significant portion of the population has no cellular service.

As a Westbank native can't we take the way pass boutte/houma to get there? Ya know, when you driving pass Avondale going straight to boutte
@504RoadTrips
@504RoadTrips 2 жыл бұрын
To get to Baton Rouge? That way is never faster unless you’re starting out west of Marrero. The Hale Boggs bridge and I-310 between Boutte and I-10 is going backwards at an angle, so it adds distance. If you’re east of the Harvey canal, it’s a lot faster to go through the city. All those red lights in western Marrero and Westwego are a big slowdown.

@@lahkooky504westside3 then the Hale Boggs is faster for you, since you’re so far west to start out. We’re at the far opposite end of the Westbank, so we almost always go through the city.

Yeah my cousin said he was headed to br while we were on da phone. Then he mentioned Domino's. I said "Wait you in boutte?" He said yeah. He explained how you can get to BR that way. My mind was blown. You can even get to Lafayette from there I was mind blown 🤯

But since you mentioned it...was Fountain Bay an autocorrect thing, or was it once called that? I have long thought I remembered the hotel having the word Bay in it, but in searching, all I can find is Fountainbleau [sic] mentioned back to when it was first built.

First of all Louisiana is a majority Catholic state in the only reason why that we do not have counties it's because we dislike the county system because of the Catholic people who are also known as parishioners that's why we have parishes get your facts straight before you talk about my home state

As a lifelong Louisianian, and a Catholic, who wrote the commentary in this video, that's EXACTLY what was said. Unfortunately, due to copyright issues with the music in the video, the audio up to about halfway through the video had to be overwritten, so some of the information may have been lost.
