This was so amazing thank you! I found an antique wardrobe on the side of the road, locked of course. Opening the lock up and showing us what's happening inside was the part that made me finally feel like I understood how to pick a lock! It's open now and I'm forever grateful

For only $8.50usd I just got a really nice wood wall hanging curio cathedral cabinet with a locked glass door at a thrift store, but no key, and no way to open the door without that key. I watched several how-to's here on YT, made several different wire tools to pick the lock, but I didnt get it. Well when I came upon your demo, with just 2 wires, I tried again, and once I could see inside the lock and how the levers lift up to release the bolt, I then started feeling for that movement, and open she came. Thank you SO MUCH!!

That did make clearer what I'm supposed to be doing, thanks. I'll try it again, now that I have the idea. If I fail, it's off to the landfill for this trunk.

It's no good. No matter what I do I can't feel the tumbler(s) or anything with any kind of give to it, just the bare walls of the inside of the lock. Maybe if I had x-ray vision and could see what I'm supposed to depress, but without super-powers, it's hopeless. I did want to thank you for taking the time to send me a response, though. @@BrummieLockPicker

No one likes a show off 🤣🤣🤣 , I would struggle to open that lock with proper lock picking tools and there's you opening it with 2 paper clips . Very well picked Brummie mate

You can get it, took me about 5 minutes after watching this video. Seeing the inside helped. Hardest part for me was keeping the tension pick there then I just jammed the other one up till I got it.

I have one of these locks that is on a display cabinet. My problem is that the lock is mounted on the inside of the 1 inch thick door frame. The actual opening to the lock itself is more than 3/4 of an inch back. There is a small (3/8 inch) hole drilled through the door for the key to fit through to then enter the actual lock. I can not get much of a "bend" in my lever (or lock travel) wires to make the angle so deep in the small hole through the door wood so that i can even begin to "pick" with. I cant see any names or numbers on the lock to order a key. It is so deep that I don't know if it is a single or double lever. Any suggestions??
