I had a weekend camping at Culra in May 1995, using that same scrambly route up the leachas onto Alder. The day before I'd done a rather warm circuit of Geal Charn and Carn Dearg munros via Lancet edge, traversing the deep snow in my underpants! Kept my breeks, if not my boots, dry! Thanks for the memories, all the way to Tasmania.

A few questions.. please dont think of me as being ignorant but can you tell me what is the difference between a Ben, Monroe and Corbett and any others. I have visited Scotland a few times in the past and have to say it is absolutely beautiful. I found you on KZbin by accident but am gradually watching all your videos and totally loving them, but am a bit confused with the terminologies.. Also I've seen on a few that you hit on a bit of history or background and some like this you have come across a building ruin.. have you come across any in Glencoe and have you been up near where the battle was.. I love finding out about things so hope you dont mind me asking and sorry to all you locals for not knowing xx

We arrived back after a heavy session in the Old Forge in a force 8 gale. Camp gone so took refuge in bothy @ 2am. The Shoogly Bridge may be no more. The estate have put in a new vehicle bridge just downstream and may have removed the footbridge - I couldn't see from the closest point I got to when I was in the Ben Alder area over the bank holiday weekend. There were about half and half coming in/going out that way as opposed to the stalking track on the Ericht side of the burn and no-one mentioned it. Easiest way to stop a bike being stolen (highly unlikely any ne'er do well would hike in to Culra to nick a bike) is to remove the front axle and take it (securely) with you.
