The first Ford flathead V8's had no oil filter at all,so yours is definitely better.

Ive been using 15w 40 motorcraft diesel oil in my flathead for the past few years, i hadnt heard of the oil you're using before. Do you have to order that?

You can find that oil in most auto parts stores, sometimes they do have to order it. I get it from piston ring auto parts or drag mart. 15w 40 should be good as well as long as theres zinc in it to protect the cam and valves. There is also a zinc additive you can buy to add to your oil as well, but youll probably have to ask your local parts store to bring it in. Amsoil makes it as well as the oil. Im using lucas right now its a little easier to find. Thank you for the watch and the comment, next time i change her oil ill try to show some of these other products, and where to get them.
