That Mercury is a sexy tight looking machine. I have a 4 eyed fox, 1983 GT with a 302 5speed tremec and a small riser with a street dominator on it. Lots of fun rowing through the gears in it. I had a 1990 LX with the 302 5speed, car was extra clean 1 owner car but unfortunately I ran into some financial problems and sold it to save my ass. The only car that I always wanted in my 60 years and never got was an 82 - 86 Mercury Capri, I prefer them over the mustang and have owned at least 30 Mercury cars through the years. I seriously doubt that I could afford a solid clean and straight one,but I do live in Arizona so there is always hope. Again nice cars both.

How about upgrading the Capri's suspension to compensate for that badass 514, and then find 2 guys who actually know how to pilot those rigs....

You gotta start somewhere. And everyone started at the beginning.

awesome race...been trying to find a decent 5.0 Capri or notchback but the prices are through the roof...makes me sick thinking about my 86 5.0...letting it go for 4k pretty clean car also...thing would be worth minimum 14 k now...anyone know a good forum or place to search

Well it looks like the 514 has junk heads on it because it doesn't run like it should....
@eriv47356 жыл бұрын
So it’s automatically the 514 that doesn’t run right and it’s not at all a testament to the build quality of that 408?
@eriv47356 жыл бұрын
Big power can and is made with small blocks and big blocks are regularly put to shame by small blocks..have you ever heard of power to weight?? Or even weight displacement??..and I am sorry but as old school as I am (been building cars for 30+ yrs) in today’s world “no replacement for displacement” is a dead idea when we have access to great heads and cam combos that will put stokers right to bed..also turbos and supercharger replace displacement on a regular..this 408 was just better built than the 514 and the 514 got walked deal with it
@eriv47356 жыл бұрын
Not to sound like an asshole but You clearly do not know grudge racing..There are plenty of big internal SMALL blocks that run in the 5s..and you making that statement just shows that you don’t make it to the track much..like I said when I was a kid we thought one way but we now KNOW the opposite to be true
