Very cool! I'm a big fan of the restos, and you helped motivate me to restore a beetle of my own! I just got a 76 vert painted white, but it appears to be originally orange. It's in rough shape. When they parked it 30 years ago, nothing was wrong with it, sat outside since. It was my neighbors. There is much to restore, but I am ready for a challenge. Keep up the fantastic videos!

I remember when they were new 40 years ago. A friend in college had an early 70's beige Super Beetle with brown leatherette. He bought it brand new. Ir rode nice and had more room for cases of beer in the front!

Congrats! Seems to be another great find. Good luck with this car. I would love to see the rims painted white with black caps on the screws and center hub. If the chrome isn't good enough any more, simply paint the bumpers white also. For my kind of taste respectively in my opinion it will look really good with the black rubber. And it is a lot cheaper than to rechrome or buy new or used bumpers. You can also do this with the headlight frames. Best regards.

I am out of the Hospital FINALLY! My knee is infection free! I hope I never have to go through that again! Have a lot of videos to catch up with. Looks like a clan car. I love white cars, and white interior puts it over the top! Being a newer car, a set of Cragar SS wheels would look great! Just a personal preference.

Yes, the infection is completely gone. I was a little scared for a while. I got it when I had my surgery and it went wild. I had my leg Int. A pressurized chamber to promote healing, and they filled me up with antibiotics. They told me it would only take a week or so, it took a couple of months. I couldn’t bring in my IPAD. They said everything had to be sterilized to be in my room. One good thing is I will not have to pay a dime as they admitted the infection was the Hospitals fault. My attorney got on top if this as soon as the infection got out of control. He was already working on my case involving my last employer. Thank you for short note! I have many videos to catch up with! Is your little guy at your side learning everything there is to know about VWs? I did see him in the Super Beatle. Your doing a great job teaching him things he will be able to use his entire life. I wish I had a father that did that with me when I was young! Well hav to go. Keep up the great work!

They really do handle awesome when sorted. FYI if you don't know yet the 75 to 79 super beetle have rack and pinion steering, it seems more precise

Jason, the ‘61 has a sweet winter tire on it. That last SCCA bug was mint, When I lived in Dover we used to go watch the Mt. Washington hill climbs... like a mini Pikes Peak. HubbaBajabubba sorry I’m a big fan of Baja bugs ie: Tecate 250, SCORE, BITD, Mint 400, hill climbing sand rails, and all the Rally TT bugs. For less than 5k you can have a beast of off machine.

I have a '73 Super Beetle convertible. I drove that as a daily driver in the late '90s and loved it. I rear ended a Nissan Altima rental car with it as the dumb lady wrecked her car because couldn't drive and its been sitting for 20 years. I need to fix that thing....

Yeah with those wheels it's either a Champagne 1 or a "last edition" triple white, pretty cool. The bus was driven down, literally pulled out of the woods and fixed up, it needed everything. Engine got stuck at Terryville and they're still fixing it.

Jason, make sure to check and you'll most likely need to replace the front suspension bushings! It's a problem area that causes lots of drivability problems. Too bad its not still fuel injected!

Looks like someone's tried the jacking point :( I've owned 3 super beetles, or fat chicks as we call them in the UK. The drive will not disappoint, assuming everything is working properly. I'd own a 1303 vert if I could find a good one in RHD.
